Thank you! And thanks for all the nice replies in this thread.

They do, but I hope I didn't give the impression that the hotel is not yet up to snuff. None of the issues I mentioned would prevent me from staying there again right now.

BTW, I got the best rate by booking a AAA rate through the ChoiceHotels.com website.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING! Your report was very informative. I loved hearing about your food selections and the cost. I've taken my two teenage daughters to Vegas in the past and they really enjoyed it. Both vowed to return when they turn 21! Looks like your kids had a great time. This report was a nice change of pace. Thanks again for posting.

Great report and pictures. What kind if camera were you using? Hearing all the stuff you did with the kids really brought back memories from when I was a kid going to Vegas. Those are memories that will last them a lifetime.

Great TR, loved all the photos! I'm interested to check out the Downtown Grand (casino at least) on our upcoming trip.

Great TR! I wasn't aware of the rink. I'm not an ice skater, but what an awesome view. I really like the look of the Downtown Grand. The BBQ place looked delicious, as well (I do tend to eat a lot of bbq, being from KC). Thank you for taking the time to post all the details here.

Thanks for an enjoyable TR and for the photos, they were great. The best was the photo of your son with the burger, he had that look of trepidation, as in "I can't believe I ordered this whole thing"!

Agreed, the beef shoulder is the best of the bunch here. I am a big fan of tacos Al pastor, but the spicy pork tacos were not as good. As for your crisp pizza with all of the char marks, this is heaven for me. Mozzarella so soft, it can't be shredded, must be sliced. San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, some fresh basil, its as good as it gets.

Falling on one's butt while ice skating could chip the coccyx bone (tailbone), gotta be careful with that.

Thanks. The pictures are a mix between a Canon Powershot SX150 IS and my Google Nexus 4 phone.

I meant to this earlier but great report! And good to see another min vp bettor (if you are getting booze from the bar that is...:evillaugh) otherwise I'd try to find a nickel machine.

And is your wife a bigger player than you usually? How did you get those free nights at cosmo? Very jealous!

Nope. The only time we'd ever stepped foot in the place prior to this trip was to each do the "$100 On Us" promotion in September of 2012. There was a VMB thread in October when they sent that offer, and apparently a bunch of people like me who hadn't ever given Cosmo any significant play got the same offer.
