We have been going to Vegas every year ,but sadly not this year. Priced round trip from NJ, with economy ,extra leg room. Price for 2 is $1600 for 2. Crazy! You have to pay extra to pick seats in advance, bring a carry on and upgrade. Guess we will go to Florida instead.

    Whoa! :faint:
    That's too bad!
$1600 is more than the total Vegas budget for a lot of folks!

If you're locked into specific dates that happens. Airfare fluctuates daily and can be $1600 one day and $650 the next. Sorry to hear. Enjoy Florida :peace:

Will this trip get cancelled also??? Hope not.

I can't believe you can't do better then that. I am flying from EWR in August and only paid 140 each way on SWA.

There has got to be a cheaper option. Can you fly from Philly? I'm guessing you are talking about the big front seats on Spirit and on short notice from ACY? You can always get an airport trans company if you don't want to drive and pay to park.. What dates are you looking to go? Well Florida is cheaper this time of year..

I'm seeing nonstop fares as low as $260 RT over the next 30 days out of Newark. But, since you don't mention the dates or your location or airport, not sure where you're going with this topic.

Where there's a will, there's a way....you won't get much sympathy on a Vegas board. Florida is a top vacation destination, but it ain't Vegas. Plus, many of the schools in the south are on summer break.

what are you used to paying? Sounds about double the going rate for a non-stop flight.

Yeah, that doesn't really make sense, I can fly to LAS from EWR tomorrow, no advanced notice for $590.

I just checked random dates (8/29-9/6) on SW from EWR. Outbound as low at $122, return as low as $127. Flight times are not the greatest but if your dates are flexible you can do a LOT better than $1600 and no baggage fees on SW.

Agree. I am paying less than the to fly RT, non stop and FC to Vegas over the July 4th weekend. Living in NJ there's a fair amount of competition among EWR, JFK and LGA and a lot of airlines among those three airports with good public transportation between and among them.

The problem is that people start a thread where questions are expected and people are willing to help out but then there is no follow up from the OP.

We were looking at 9/24-9/30. We always go then. Tried United, other airlines,Travelocity, etc. we fly out of Newark. Philly was just as expensive. 400of that was for seats with extra leg room. Want to fly out in the morning and back on the red eye. Will try again next year!

Looks like about 450 on SWA for those dates. Get an exit row seat. Plenty of leg room there.

If PHL is an option $512 for 2 tickets. The outgoing flight is in the evening though. The return is a red eye. If you add in the big front seat and bags it would be about $800. It's on Spirit. I know they get a bad rap, nut I've flown them my last 6 trips to Vegas. Only once were we delayed. Actually twice bout the first one was only an hour. The second was 3 hours. The big front seat has plenty of leg room.

Pish-posh. $1600 R/T from EWR to LAS? What? On a Luxury Jet built for two?

You can fly SW all day long for a fraction-of-a-fraction of $1600.

I would personally go to the southwest site to look up pricing, we're flying similar to your dates, 9/26 to 9/30, flying out of Prov, '3' people R/T with early bird checkin both ways for under a grand.
