You pick a nice hotel. Plenty of restaurants, a nice spa, and the gambling is not that bad either. No reason you NEED to leave.

Ever have a trip where you stay in your hotel complex the entire trip?

    Never.

You are what I call a "camper". I, on the other hand, am a "butterfly. I must go to several properties, if for nothing other that to collect free play and whatnot on every trip.

Nothing wrong with that, just your style.

Not in Vegas. Unfortunately I do that for my work conference at Gaylord props. However they really don't have a great restaurant selection.

I don't think I'd want to do that in Vegas-just too much I'd be missing!

I love the thought of it - but it simply doesn't happen for me knowing what lies steps outside the door. Even staying at the best place on the Strip or Downtown leaves sights to see and people to watch

    Good question!

If you count Wynn and Encore as one property, then maybe...But I probably ventured over to Palazzo for some Carnevino or Grimaldi's at some point. And I believe I've had a trip or two where Cosmo and Aria were the only places I saw.

But I'm not sure I've ever stayed exclusively in one place for the entire trip. Maybe I'll try it next month! Just a three day trip, wouldn't be too hard, would it? Yeah, that sounds kinda interesting...

Not for the whole time there, no. If so, that would be a staycation to me. But not realky since I don't reside in Nevada. But you get the gist. We have stayed at the Cosmo for a day and never left though. Wicked Spoon for brunch, back to the room to watch tv/movies, back downstairs to the casino to gamble, secret pizza for dinner.

Yep! Many times. I play where I stay. Honestly I leave to go on outings with hubby, otherwise, I would have NO problems staying "on campus" for 1, 2 even 3 days.

We've been lucky enough to stay at our favorite hotels, so when I venture out, it's not like the grass looks greener on the other side....

No right or wrong, it's just whatever you enjoy most, and I personally have NO problems camping

I never have going back 35 years. But my reasons may be different than other people. I usually go to Vegas for 5 nights, sometimes 6. I also love to Casino hop.
In fact, even if i was just in Vegas for one or two nights i'd still Casino hop to as many Hotels/Casinos as i can.
    Why? It's Vegas baby!

Disclaimer: we do long trips, so couldn't bear to be in one place for that long. We do stay at several properties each trip.

The only time I have ever stayed the whole time at a property we were checked into was once at Orleans. I was there for a slot tournament for 3 days. Checked in, registered, then never even left the room for the whole time. I have Crohn's and had a mini flare. I was lucky I was well enough to check out.

If that hadn't happened, I don't think I'd ever stay on property anywhere for a whole day, never mind a trip. That would not be what we come to Vegas for. We usually rent a car for part of the time and get out and about each day we have it. Days when we don't have a car, we have a bus ticket. You can go a long way on the bus if you plan it right. I think the only non accessible casino is M Resort.

Not in Vegas. I go all over the place. I love to walk and go checkout all the places.

I do, however, attend a conference in Canadian Rocky Mountains where I never leave the resort. Breakfast, lunch and supper are all a part of the conference costs and there are several parties throughout the property during the evenings. Oh and the conference sessions are all on the property too. I attend all of those. No, really, I do. Honest. Oddly enough, I don't go for any walks or hikes at this conference.

Yes when staying at Mandalay Bay, no reason to head beyond to Luxor and beyond.

    I have two answers.

First: No. I go to Vegas to see the city and to check out the 'local's' spots (both gambling and restaurants). We always rent a car. I go to Vegas to NOT be on site. When I go to Atlantic City (my local turf) I hardly ever leave the property I'm staying at. There's nothing of interest outside of the casino in AC.

Second: We once stayed at Harrah's-LV for 5 days. My husband didn't leave the property. I told him we could have driven to AC for a hotel room with a casino; we didn't have to fly across the country. If he plans on just camping out at the one property again to let me know and I'll leave him home, it's a lot more comfortable. (Actually, I usually do leave him home! :poke:.)

Yep. If I don't have a show booked or arrangements to meet someone, I check in, hit the closest CVS/Walgreens/ABC to load up, and then basically never leave the building except maybe very early a.m. for a little fresh air, or late at night go out to the porte cochere for a little people watching.

But I do normally stay at 3 hotels during a trip, so it's not totally camping.

Nope. We rarely stays put for more than even a couple hours. The one unique thing about Vegas is the incredible scale of the gaming areas of town. Nowhere else on earth can you hit 10+ casinos within walking distance.

In Vegas, as The Beach Boys so eloquently sing, "I Get Around!" :D

(I'm still working on the "I'm makin' real good bread" part, though!)

Wife and I did that once, 5 nights @ Encore/Wynn about 5 years ago. It was somewhat relaxing and a totally different way to do Vegas.

Yep. I spent 2.5 days at Southpoint with a buddy and the two times I walked outside were arriving and leaving.

Didn't feel good about it either.
