I will never forget what happened to me at Treasure Island several years ago. It just happened to be my birthday. Early that morning I went to the bar to get coffee and put $20 in a video poker machine, expecting to play a few hands while waiting on my coffee. Imagine my surprise when hitting a royal flush on the very first hand. I was playing fifty cents (full coin $2.50 wager) for a $2,000 jackpot.

A few actually. Most recently while waiting for my brother as he chased around a cocktail waitress/bartender at the Hard Rock (Tampa) I sat at a Hotsy Totsy 7's machine threw in a hundred max bet ($3) in 2 spins I hit for $3210.00, after some drama with a crazy as fuck Asian lady next to me (screaming the jackpot and winnings were hers) I bailed, leaving my pervy brother to chase his girl around a casino solo.

Las Vegas Club 2009, I was staying at The Golden Nugget. I got up before wifey and wanted to do some solo gambling before she woke up from her mojitos in the hot Las Vegas sun coma. So I end up at the Las Vegas Club and sit on a Happy Days slot, put in a hundred and started playing, well about 40 in I hit the 54 free game bonus - then retriggered it - then it hit for a 24 spin bonus on top of all those. Never had anything like it since. Walked outta there with close to 3k.

Honeymoon in Las Vegas 2007 staying at Caesars. Just strip gawking and casino hopping it was the first day of our honeymoon. We walk into The IP, I sit at a $5 WOF max bet get a spin - $1195...Bye bye IP!!!

Me no, but usually after the machine as sucked down my buy-in and no bonus in sight, someone will sit down next to me and get a big win on their first pull.

Cindy likes slots. I don't. But as part of the Robinson Vegas Vacation Accord I'll play a machine next to hers, as she has favorites. We sit down, she inserts her $20. I insert my $100. First spin (my machine has regular slot stuff plus a side action card hand). She selects, as is often the case, minimum...I select max. My machine starts making noise and catches her attention. I don't recall what the card hand was, but it did yield $500. That's it. I'm done. Cash out. I sat there and watched her - as she does enjoy this stuff - drag the twenty out for some time. Big huge success, as we - we - won $500. ;)

This was a few years ago when the Wizard of Oz machines first came out. We were at Harrahs in las vegas. I walked up to an open seat on a bank of 4 machines...slipped a $20 in the end machine and pressed the button and got the Glenda bonus. I hadn't even sat down yet and hit the bonus for $930. Not bad for a 40 cent investment. I casually walked away but had to look back after a few steps to see the 3 other gentleman cussing me out...lol....sorry guys...that happens to me all the time. Kinda nice to be on the other end for a change.

I don't have any of these but I do have a what if.

    Twice.

I usually back then when I gambled a lot played tons of pai gow poker.

They had a bonus bet (which I usually don't play bc I don't believe in them)

But one night I was feelin the bonus and kept playing it all nite. Hitting the smaller payout ones you know , flushes , full house etc. they pay out 5 to 1 or 10 to 1 , you know. Just a couple not a lot.
I have been betting at least a $5 chip in there each time sometimes $10.

The one time I don't play the bonus was when I was distracted by a chip runner or food service I forgot but I play and get a five aces ( 4 aces w joker).
Payout was 500 to 1 I believe , this was in commerce casino in California.

I had that same situation occur again a few days later. However that day I wasn't playing bonus so I didn't figure it was a could have been what if.

    Doh

Edit. Actually now re reading the op subject I think this one is not in topic

Had one back in 2003 at Colorado Belle in Laughlin. While the GF (now wife) was standing in line to check-in, I sat with the luggage at a VP machine. Put in a twenty, hit Max Bet and walked away with $800 on QQQQ. She was rather surprised when I was back in line in just 2 minutes. :woot:

Not quite a one hit wonder, but I have had 2 "low roller" blackjack experiences.

    1. Red Rock- January 2015. With a large group in town for a kids soccer tournament. Put $20 into .25 slot machine and on the 3rd spin it hits for $90. Cash out and play BJ. $10 minimum. I win a few hundred. Wife loses a few hundred. I give her half of my winnings and hit the craps table with a $200 bank roll. Lose about half of it pretty fast and walk away. Find the wife and some soccer friends and watch them play for a bit. After about an hour of watching them, I see some other friends at a double deck BJ table. I sit down with $100 and play $10 a hand. Win some, lose some. Down to my last $10 a few times. Start to win a few and I'm up a few hundred. Friends walk away and it's just me and the dealer. I go on a crazy ride. Up $700. Text my wife. She says come to bed. Walk away. Up $1,300. Text my wife. She begs me to walk away. A few other guys sit down. And I'm still winning. Went up stairs with $2,500 in my pocket. Just basic strategy s d aggressive pressing when things were going good.

    2. At Aria. Sept 2015 for 2 nights. I can't win. Wife can't lose. We each have a $400 bankroll for gambling for the trip. I lose mine the first night. She doubles hers. Gives me $200 for night 2. I lose it quickly. Decide to just watch her play for the rest of the night. She's doing well and asks if I want more money. I decline. About an hour later, I get the itch and I'm feeling lucky. Get $100 from the wifeATM. About an hour later, I turn it into $1,500 playing at a $10 BJ table. Hit a streak and pressed hard when things took a turn for the positive.

The second best I've done is a $1.50 bet on Wicked Winnings II, third spin I hit for $1,200.60
The third best I've done is $5 bet on Bally Cash Wheel, tenth spin for $126,724.00

Here's one. Put $500 in a $5 VP machine. First hand dealt a pair of Aces, then drew 2 more for $4,000. Cashed out and walked away.

That literally happened on my (wifes) first spin yesterday. I had 76.25 I think and I put it in the machine and won! F-ing crazy. We were at a pow wow casino. I don't play slots much. I always loose. But the woman almost always funking wins it's crazy. I just post up next to her and admire the play.

What I REALLY like is when you get those free play promotions and you hit it big during the free play! :) Only happened a couple of times ever.

I had a nice quick-hitter at Caesar's. Put $20 in a Triple Double Bonus machine and scored a nice $400 on a 4OAK and walked away.

A couple of years ago at Horseshoe Southern Indiana I was waiting for the nightly poker tournament to start I put $100 into a $4.00 max bet Buffalo and on the last spin I filled the screen (except 5 odd spots) with Buffalos-"Five Buffalo wins 3000 (X243)" for $7,290. Literally last spin, had to feed the machine so I could spin off the win after getting paid. Had to rush to the tourney and needless to say I wasn't too upset when I busted out of the tourney with flopped set over set in the second level.
Last year I hit $5 WOF for $1,250 and while I was waiting for HP, put money in $1 Triple Diamond 9 line and on the first spin hit Triple Diamond Triple Diamond Triple Diamond on line 5 for cool $2K (on line 9 it would have been $5K). The 2 W-2s showed a time separation of the jackpots as 3 minutes 30 seconds. It was about 9am so I left to do other things as I figured I had used up my luck for the day.
