Hi again everyone. Have a few thoughts to wrap up the trip report.

I tried Mississippi Stud for the first time during the trip. Travis and I sat down for one session at the Linq on a $5 table. I bought in for $200 and never won a hand. I only had 2 pushes through the entire session! I also only had maybe twice that I was able to fold right away and only lose my ante. Most hands I had enough face cards or 6s-10s that I had to stay in, only to never pair up. That game seems brutal. Not sure if I just had a run of bad luck or if that is typical but the other players at the table made some comments about it being a rough game when we sat down. I had played a few hundred hands on a simulator and never had a bad stretch like that so am not sure what to think. Not sure I will be playing that game again anytime soon.

On the last couple of trips we had played at the Linq bar over near the video game section - not sure what the bar is called. Anyway, they had a few machines that were tied into the stadium style electronic gaming section by the sports book where you could play bubble craps, blackjack, video poker and baccarat on the same machine and at the same time. These machines were cool because the BJ was 3:2 and you could play for $1 minimum and 3 hands at a time! We had a lot of fun having drinks and playing BJ and craps on those. Unfortunately they are no longer on that bar. All of the machines I saw there were standard video poker machines now. Bummer.

Fire Bet! We have been sad about the demise of the fire bet in Vegas over the last few years but I'm excited to say that I did find 1 craps table at Harrah's that had the fire bet! The felt looks a little different than when the fire bet was everywhere so I didn't even notice it at first. Travis actually pointed it out to me. I played it for a little while but the table limit was soon raised to $15 and I normally won't play more than $10 so I colored up and left. I hope that it's still there for our next trip in July as I really do prefer the fire bet to the ATS or repeater bonus bets.

The royal flush progressive bonus that is tied into all of the 3 Card, Let It Ride, etc. tables was up over $1.2M again. It was around that level last October when I was last in Vegas and someone at Caesar's hit it while we were there. Saw the straight flush bonus get hit while we were there. I think it was around $26k at the time.

I enjoyed the corner room at Paris again this time around - it was the second time I've stayed in one of these rooms. It's nice having windows on two walls and a little more space. The one downside is it's a looooong way to the ice machine.

A few more random shots from the trip. Thanks everyone for reading along! Next trip will be early July!

One other note I forgot about. I tried out a new game at Harare’s I’d never seen before called Vega$ 3 Poker. It’s like 3 card poker but with a 4th card in play. I can’t remember all of the rules exactly, but it had ante and play bets along with 3 card and 4 card bonus bets. The dealer had to have AQ to qualify. Ran a couple hundred through it and had fun talking to a woman who was a cop in Fort Worth where I grew up, but not sure I would want to play it again. Here is the information card for the game.

Harrah's is known for coming out with new games, that other casinos don't have. They are the only casino on the Strip that has DJ WILD, another different kind of poker game, which is pretty fun to play.
