    Hi there,

I was wondering if there are any 'European style' day spa centers in the Vegas area?
By this I mean clothing optional or nude and mixed. Me and my wife love going to wellness centers but it seems that in the states you have to wear bathing suites... We both find this so unhygienic.
So if anyone knows a good place, please let us know!

    Greetz from Belgium

Every spa i been to in Vegas have clothing optional except for the co-ed areas. EncoreĀ“s spa is my favourite while Aria (has a co-ed section if you like to spend some time with your wife) is really nice as well.

What they said. Iv been to many spas in Vegas and most are clothing optional on the gender specific sides, at least in the wet areas and treatment rooms.

As far as mixed gender clothing optional areas, I haven't seen that here.

Agree but i have never seen that in Europe either. Its either no bathing suits allowed or its required in the co-ed areas. Never seen a co-ed area in Vegas for no bathing suit.

Here in belgium you really have to search to find a spa center that is not mixed where u can wear bathing suites. Some spas have one day a week or a month with clothing Permitted. Otherwise iTS always nude together in all areas.
So i guess u wont find this in the states?

A lot of americans are prudes to nudity and that is part of the reason we have so few clothing optional beaches and such, same with other facilities.

So bizarre, in a land where they make all the Major porn movies, playboy, penthouse, Hustler, where you have tittie bars everywhere, people are being prudes about being naked with other people in a sauna...
This just doesnt make sense to me...

The problem is that it SEEMS, AT LEAST IN MY OPINION that here in America, nudity is thought of as sexual, dirty, perverted.

There's got to be a market for this, we should get some investors together and open one up on the strip.

I am sure there is a market for this. Public sauna centers are packed over here seven days a week. But would this be even legal to do in the states?
And these are not sex centers! People of all ages, sizes and looks are just having a relaxed time in a nice free environment. You even have whole families who come together.
And for those who are not comfortable being naked with other people, you have the private sauna circuit. Here you can rent a smaller sauna complex for a couple of hours for yourself. ( but these places tend to be sex saunas...)

A few across the US do exist (as do naturist beaches & other facilities) but they aren't popular, which is why there are few. There are camps & naturist resorts as well. As noted earlier in the thread, single sex places are usually clothing-free, and some places which are co-ed and normally require clothing might have a day or week where clothing isn't required.

Specific websites geared toward naturism would probably help you find more of what you are interested in. But saunas and spas in general aren't as big a part of the culture in the US as they are in other parts of the world.....

(personally, I'm a fan and have visited some beaches - though I am not, in general, a "beach" person.)

Anytime I've been to clothing optional beaches or spas I wished most of the people would have chosen the clothed option.

Well, those of us who don't like to wear clothing usually are doing it for ourselves, not for others. The whole "it's not sexual" thing. But then, these attitudes that naked has to equal sexy are the problem in the first place.....

Why do folks insist on trashing Americans on our norms on nudity when they come here? The country was founded in part by Puritans. They left Europe for a reason and we seem to be doing okay.

Well, I'm American and I don't hold those norms. We're a diverse place since the 1600s.....Not trashing anything or anyone. I do find the disconnect/interaction between nudity and sexuality to be unnatural.

Please. Lotta ways and mores came over from Europe with the Miscreants and subsequent waves that weren't exactly so wonderful.

Yes, we are anal about nudity yet also the most violent and sexually creepy putatively civilized nation in the world.
