    An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.

    Looks like they're taking a cue from the escalator work at metro stations around here. Those things are out of commission for months at a time to be replaced. Only to break a week later.
