Took a quick, solo trip to our favorite city May 7-9 with one full day of gambling downtown. In between going from the Fremont (where I was enjoying a comped stay)to the Plaza, I stopped in the Golden Gate just in case Hurricane Mikey might be there dealing and I could see if he really was better looking than Hoss Cartwright as he one time claimed. There he was, easily recognizable from his website and the TR photos, at about a half-full table that was slightly warm and having fun, at least on his end. I bought in for a hundred and stationed myself directly across from him. The players were betting low stakes, my $5 w/double odds and $22 - $34 inside (high on the 6/8) and a buck each on the hard 4 & 10 was the highest on our end and Mikey had no real trouble on the payoffs. I put him on the line for a buck w/ shoes or a buck or 2 on the hard ways when that was possible but never won him a dime in the 30 minutes I was there. I was up a hundred but then a beam of sunlight came in and gave Mikey a false halo, which we all got a kick out of (except the sourpuss stickman, "Dave or John"??? maybe was his name?- anyway, he was no fun and seemed he didn't appreciate our kidding around with Mikey) and the table cooled off. After losing half back I turned around and put my chips on the cashier counter and got out of there when Mikey went on break. Never did introduce myself as I didn't want the pitboss to think Mikey was dealing to friends but I made a comment about the flea circus and Mikey muttered under his breath, "You got that right" and when he jokingly told a player who requested his payoff that making the payoff was his passion, I said, "I thought it was sailing." He looked up at me but didn't reply. Anyway, I was just hinting around that there was a T2V member at the table, dunno if he caught it. Oh, and by the way, he doesn't look anything like Hoss C., I will have to ask my wife when I return to LV with her in June if he puts Hoss in the shade in the looks department. stephen2753

Hey Steve--

I remember the whole false halo thingy the other day, but I never heard any comment about sailing--sorry about that...

But you're right--definitely a flea circus in there!

No problem dealing to fellow T2Vers there at the Gate, Dougie walked up and I introduced him to the other dealers and the boxman the other day. They're ok with it.

Ewwwe! now thats what I like to hear...
A wink and sly little smile will keep
Mikey guessing.

Seriously Mikey.. I am so glad to hear things are working out well for you, next time we get to town I'm lookin you up! Just look for the girl with the dice in her hand and a twinkle in her eye.
