My niece just moved to Las Vegas (arrived last weekend from K.C.) and is going to start her job search next week. She has a masters degree in business. She also transferred to Buffalo Wild Wings from K.C. just so she could have some income coming in.

She would like to know, should she be offered a position, at any of the strip casino's, does anyone know how far the employee parking garages are from the casino's? She is currently living with a girlfriend in Henderson, until she can get her own place.

I advised that maybe the off strip properties would be easier regarding parking, and might be easier to get hired. And if anyone happens to know of any companies that may be looking to hire, casino or non casino, please let me know. Her computer is not hooked up yet.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Most of the employee parking is in garages located at the rear of the property.

How exciting! I wish her luck - and congrats on the Master's! It depends on who she gets a job with also - there are plenty of options!

The casinos themselves (which have employee sections in the parking garages, or as @VegasBJ stated garages at the rear)

Or corporate gaming companies - typically in more of a business park, with their own parking lot, etc:

The parking at Planet Hollywood isn’t too bad and it’s free. Could be a lot of opportunities there

    This

From what I’ve noticed it’s the same as the public ones in the back, just different areas for employees.

It's kind of a bad time to be in the hotel industry. At least in Vegas. Lots of cuts and changes in recent years. Most employee parking is within walking distance, although when I worked at the Cosmo for the grand opening I remember having to park somewhere isolated near the strip and took the company shuttle bus to the Cosmo.

AFAIK, Employee parking is in large lots separate from the customer parking. Wynncore Employee parking is on Koval Ln, Treasure Island/Mirage Employee Parking garage is on Sammy Davis Jr. Dr., a throuwback when both casinos were owned by Steve Wynn. The Bellagio parking garage is on Frank Sinatra Lan.

Here is a map of the employee parking areas, for anyone really interested.

I'd add that the convenience of the employee parking lot can depend a lot on where, exactly, she's working within the building. At some properties, it's a hike and a half to the lobby from the employee lot, but the employee entrance is right near where the corporate offices are. And as to corporate offices, companies have different approaches to that -- at Caesars and MGM, for example, there are significant office complexes at Caesars Palace and Bellagio respectively, but there are also off-site complexes (and it's not just a seniority thing, but more a question of where they choose to house certain departments). If she does get a company position she'll want to make sure she asks where it's seated.
