Stardust had rows of "dorm rooms" out back. I think they called them "Garden" rooms or something.

The Villa was the old Royal Nevada, which was nicer low-rise two-story rooms to the south of the casino.

They only checked room keys at the elevators to the larger West Tower.

That was it, "garden", they were quite luxurious for the $19 or whatever I paid.

At first it was kind of pain when I stayed the Tez. But now I like the extra security. The only issue is when i am there with a group and we were on different floors. Since your key only takes you to your floor in the tower. Now I just try to make sure the group is on one floor.

It was $9.95 when we first stayed there, not to admit my real age! :)

If they wanted to rob you in the elevator, wouldn't they have to count on you not following them or calling for help once it's time to get off? Just a thought.

I wish all of the hotels at least asked for a card. Maybe just seeing personnel there at the bottom would be a deterrent. My friend was assaulted in an elevator at Harrah's and then the scumbag followed her back to our room and pushed his way in. Thank God I was awake and heard the fumbling in the hallway. I pushed his unsavory a$$ right out, but I shudder to think what would have happened if I had been sleeping.

Orleans has a security guard by the elevators at all times. Rarely do they ask to see your card.

No security, but LINQ also has the elevators where you have to scan your key to move

I like the elevator card scan. The card scan is at least a deterrent, but that doesn't mean a guest cannot bring multiple people with them.
