I'd argue that a person at the front desk is pretty popular? And enough towels for everyone in the room to take a shower without sharing towels? Popular I'd think. A whole ounce of liquor in your $21 and up drink? Probably quite a lot of demand for that.

I agree I think we see a mix of circumstance plus cost cutting, but the cost cutting is real and apparent. And if we are going to talk circumstance, covid, etc, it would be dishonest to leave out conditions at the competition, where people still run in to issues here and there, but Wynn, Cosmo, MLife, etc have all managed to maintain acceptable levels of service on the same street in the same town under the same conditions, so that weighs heavily in my opinion that "circumstance" is more of an excuse than a reason, and it just doesnt hold water when all CZR properties are experiencing this nosedive but no other properties in town are reflecting anything similar to this level.

And at some point it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy - all the people that aren’t working (but could) hear about the awful conditions and cuts at CET since the ownership change (whether true or not) from former colleagues or friends who work there. So when these people do decide to re-enter the work force, do you think they are going to go apply at places who have kept up service levels and staffing, or CET where things have been understaffed for months…..? And the only way for CET to break that cycle is to increase wages and things which lead to higher levels of employee satisfaction, which cost money, and it’s been well speculated at how adverse they are to doing things that cost money…..

On the labor point, a Wynncore housekeeping staff member and my mother had a very interesting conversation one day last week. I let her in and didn't recognize her and then went to breakfast while my mom chilled in her chair in the room.

My mom later that day told me that the HK staff member said she was so glad she "FINALLY" got to work at Wynn and that she had been trying to do so for FOUR years. She said the pay is "much higher" than where she previously worked at HK, there is a 401(k) for HK and other benefits that she did not have at her other job. I knew generally that Wynncore paid a premium to get what it perceived as the strongest new employees but I was very gratified to hear about the HK staff as well.

It’s sucks when you have high expectations and it’s all pulled out from under your feet. Don’t let that be your last memory.

On July 20, 2020, Eldorado announced it completed the purchase of Caesars Entertainment.

One year later and I still can’t tell how to earn and redeem RC’s at Tropicana in Atlantic City. There are probably other Eldorado casinos on this list, but I’m not familiar with those.

    No excuse for this.

Here is a prime example of "shit or get off the pot." You can't give a "bad" gamble AND cut comps. If casinos want to move away from giving out comps then they must make the "gamble" less of a risk. Don't give me those ridiculous VP paytables AND take away my F&B or charge me some ludicrous resort fee. You burn the candle at both ends - you know who gets burned.

Agreed. Tropicana Laughlin. Same problems. They gave me a CET card with a different number for their local.

the back and forth on this..

I see this , this way:

we go to vegas for the experience and the way we get treated. it's disney for adults as some have said.

Well let me tell you, IF disney pulled the crap eldorado is pulling.. no room service, cutting back everything .
we would all say why even go to disney then?? if you can't even get extra towels?

this isn't just the high rollers, it's the regulars also, we have a huge vantage point from all the info we get here on this site.
so we are more like "insiders" knowing this and that.. hell at my work and family everyone asks me about trips especially to vegas
and right now what they are doing is destroying the base clientele top to bottom.
not just the high tier seven stars etc.

So i will stick with my lowly mlife and pray one day I get on the radar for cosmo or heaven it self wynn.

believe me when even low rollers are complaining and your front of line staff are that open and honest about how shitty

everything has been changed.. you will lose a lot of talent and the best of the best will be poached to somewhere else.

so vote with your wallets.. IF your host, cocktail watiress, bar staff or that person/people moves to another casino.
buy them a drink leave a good review with their name on it.
    I know i do.

my rosy can name the staff we love by name even at english as her second language she tips and tells them my husband and I love your
work and here you go thanks for every thing.
i have left tips, beers and emailed bosses at casinos and let them know this person is an assett

so vote with your wallets.. post publicly .. yelp.google etc..

believe me.. last thing eldorado wants to be is called out on their bullshit!!

They still haven't even converted my local, Grand Victoria, to CR. You still earn Club GVC credits and they manually transfer the equivalent TCs over to your CR account and have to request a transfer of any rewards currency back and forth. Last time I asked, they said the conversion to CR is likely to happen "late this year". So dumb that they didn't do this when everything was closed...

Tropicana AC had a local “Caesars Rewards” card for a few months, then about two months ago they went over to the regular CR card which could be used at Caesars and Harrah’s AC.

Unless I missed an online link, I don’t know which Tropicana restaurants and bars accept RC’s.

So while I don't have extensive experience with El Dorado, I do have some. When I heard about the merger, i went to check out the casinos they have Black Hawk Colorado. They were fine. Like, in terms of the casino and stuff itself everything was...okay? Didn't super stand out. The slot selection was abyssmal as has become the norm across all CET properties and I thought the rewards desk staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there. BUT there was a large annoyance upon check in. I had booked one night at Lady Lucky casino - parked in their parking garage and went with suitcase to the front desk. Only to find the front desk closed at 11 a.m. with a sign telling me I needed to go to their other casino, Isle Casino, and check in there. So I had to walk with luggage across two properties just to check in and then walk all the way back. That screams being cheap because they don't want to have to staff check in desks at both hotels.....even though they are different hotels....

So like the whole first world problems thing.... I mean, asking to have a hotel front desk staffed is a pretty basic "amenity".

They are indeed. I've never seen Wynn status match before. Resorts World I think is too? Circa also did. They know what's up. I just hope Wynn extends their status match so I can get it in September.

On the note of service levels, I noticed a few posts here and on other sites saying that Wynn is slipping a hair. So yes every resort faces the challenges of rehiring and bringing people on to meet this explosive demand, but CET/Eldorado seems to be affected more by it.

Vegas Strip is just a different world. You can't make this argument when they've been ruining payouts and cutting comps for years yet people keep coming. The question is what is too far.

I do want to stay at MLife next time and see if I notice a difference. I noticed hours were down on food everywhere - well beyond CET. I am intrigued to know if they're doing a better job servicing rooms. And the food at Caesars pool in June was abjectly awful - a huge miss that I noted in my TR. I did find my pool waitress service and dinner services were fine, and that table games service and bar service were generally fine.

I stayed at the Cromwell where there was no check in line, so I didn't see an issue there.

The average housekeeper/dealer/etc is a working class person who needs the money, and they're often in a union. I think you're overstating the impact that would have on employee turnover. Dealers/housekepers/waiters aren't going to give up good mid strip hours and tokes to be a newbie at some other joint unless the deal is better. As long as the Flamingo pays more than Ellis Island and places like that, they'll be able to steal workers in a normal time.

Also, everyone's service level is clearly down.

I don't think the quality of the service is slipping but rather the amount of it, if that makes sense. For example, all of the restaurants are open and my host told me another Mexican restaurant will soon open where the previous one was at Encore. BUT, the buffet, for example, is not yet open 7 days a week and neither is Charlie's. I assume that is a result of a staffing shortages and/or still bringing people back online. Same with turndown service. You can receive it -- verses not getting it at all -- but it isn't automatic; you need to request. And honestly, that makes sense as not everyone may really want it though some folks, like me, love it and I tip accordingly.

We stayed in a Tower Suite at Luxor around the 4th, usually skip housekeeping, but forgot to hang the DND sign. Housekeeping had been there after we returned from lunch, didn't specifically request it.
