More pieces of the Eldorado/Caesars merger moving into place. Surprised there hasn't been more talk about Caesars properties up for sale and who might pick those up.

Hmm, this is interesting. I figured Eldorado/CET would have kept this property there along with Horseshoe. The initial thinking was they would sell out Louisiana Downs to someone else. Wonder if they change the name of the property or keep it Eldorado?

The local casinos are the ones to watch. If there are 3-4 in an area, local gaming boards will likely tell Eldorado they cannot own 2-3 as it creates too much of a 'monopoly' in the area although they sometimes don't enforce it when there are no options to sell and they don't want casinos closing or when the two primary casinos in an area are owned by different companies.

As far as LV, I still expect the targets to be sold are PHo (because of the location away from the 'core' CET casinos) and Cromwell (due to the size). They might try and sell Harrah's too, but I am not sure.

Linq/Flamingo and Bally's/Paris are probably safe because of 'common areas' (Promenade and the walkway between Ballys/Paris) that link the casinos.

I'm a big fan of Eldorado. The hotel is nice, the casino is huge by boat standards with much higher ceilings than Horseshoe, and they are pet friendly! I hope they don't change for the worse. Due to finances I haven't been gambling in a while but I hope any local folks keep us abreast of changes as they come.

They will probably keep the Chicago area ones as they are spread out in Hammond, Joliet and Elgin. My guess is that Ruffin will pick up at least one of the strip properties.

I would like to know if y’all have any perspective on Lake Charles? Do not know if many know this, but Eldorado bought Isle of Capri a year ago. It would make a lot of sense for Caesars to make their mark again in Lake Charles. With the Golden Nugget and L’Auberge it would make sense for Caesars to make a play again in the market. They haven’t been there since Rita wiped out the boat they had and they never came back. Any Thoughts?

I don't have any knowledge about any entitie's plans for Lake Charles and I've only been to Isle of Capri once since Eldorado bought them and nothing had changed yet. I would LOVE to see Caesars get back into LC! LC is the closest real casino destination to me and where as L'Auberge and GN are very nicely appointed properties, my level of play doesn't get a ton of comps there and my luck is even worse (no idea if it has to do with their pay tables or not).
