    My Trip Report

This is a solo trip of some low-rolling video poker Downtown. Not a lot of variety but why waste the pictures I took?

    Day One

First luck of the trip was bad, about forty-five minute delay in departure. Not too bad but it took me out of the window for catching my chauffeured stretch limo, the WAX. I must have missed this guy at baggage claim so I grabbed a Lyft.
    886.JPG

Actually, it took me twenty minutes with my rusty photoshop skills to do that, so I’m using the picture.

I knew I-15 was not an option at 5:30 pm so I talked the driver into taking Eastern. A few traffic lights then easy breezy.

Checked into El Cortez and I thought I was booked a Cabana thru the host. When I found out the tower was available I chose second floor facing south. No view except the casino roof and that weird pagoda looking structure blocks noise from Fremont.

    888.JPG 887.JPG

The bank roll. The mission is to burn through two grand and/or hit a handpay royal.

    890.JPG 891.JPG

The first quad comes easy and strong with a cold beer at Ike’s. Always a relief to break the seal on the first session.

    892.JPG
Here I discover the light system that goes into effect on Saturday
    895.JPG
The double double bonus quarter bank progressive. It’s already packed, if it hits four thousand they bring out sign up sheets.

    896.JPG 897.JPG 898.JPG

The walk to Fremont. First time I have ever seen the lobster truck serve a customer. Seriously.

    899.JPG 900.JPG 901.JPG 902.JPG 903.JPG

Quads at the Vue Bar and Kings Bar. Serious Suited Progressive Clubs.

    904.JPG
I don’t know art, but I know what I like

    905.JPG
Weak vodka tonics at the Parlour Bar. Big hit with the pointies (credit: Royal Flusher). Time for bedtime craps.

    907.JPG 908.JPG
Winning session, not much but I'll take it.
    910.JPG
One more quad on the walk to the room. No more bankroll pics because fifteen hundred never leaves the safe. Started the night with five hundred in my pocket, end it with nine hundred.

Enough work for tonight. This is not a live TR (took me about ten minutes to deep six that idea) but I will post more tomorrow.

Thanks for the first day. I’ve seen the lobster truck open but never tried it. Maine lobsters are much closer to home.

Great report so far. I too plan on some decent VP play downtown in August. The Plaza, the kings bar at the 4 queens and the El Co are my three favorite spots downtown. Can’t wait

Love the "Sad As Fuck" t-shirt in the craps table photo. I love El Co, but it can be just that sometimes. Thanks for the TR! Looking forward to the rest.

Thanks for the variety of pictures. The gentleman across from you at the craps table doesn't look very happy. In fact, he looks sad.

Lol I didn't notice that. Thanks!

I have referred to El Co as a "loveable dump", I really need to get back there. Lol

Big progressive on that Parlour Bar, hope to read that @FullPay hits it!

    Day Two

Headed out to find some breakfast, thinking Eggs Benny at the DTG. Kind of wishing for biscuits and gravy of the non-buffet type and find it on the menu at Freedom Beat. Not a good choice for a Southern boy, this train wreck contains salty thin gravy and fried eggs over some type of whole grain dumpling. Fail.

Take a tour of Binion’s. Get a quick hit on robot roulette, play some Pick A Pair (recently downgraded) and turn a ten dollar freeplay into $9.90 actual.

    912.JPG 913.JPG 914.JPG 915.JPG 917.JPG 918.JPG
View the automated stadium where our future robot overlords will enjoy multi-tasking. Never seen a human play in here. They had a similar setup at Lucky Dragon, what could go wrong?

Random shot of Plaza, going to try and seed a trip here. 921.JPG
Under the Strict Rules of Parlay ™ (credit Flushie Pants) I turn twenty dollars into three hundred. I could learn to like this system! Playing at the Plaza sports book bar.

    924.JPG 925.JPG 926.JPG
Today’s mission: ReLeaf. Took the SDX and got off one stop too soon. Rookie mistake which my legs and other ambulatory bits are screaming about.

    927.JPG 928.JPG
No pics. All signs inside say pictures extremely verboten. Got three cartridges and a vape pen, and Thursday is five dollars off day! Out through the mantrap and I am ingloriously shown the door with my two hundred dollar bag o’ weed.

    933.JPG
These turn out to be my best purchase yet. After a twenty six year abstinence almost everything seems too potent and hair raising. A short draw on the lowest setting produces the subtle effect that I've been looking for. Cartridges also travel well in my liquids bag through the x-ray and nary an eyebrow was raised.

Now with the mission accomplished the noon day heat and my aching legs beg me to find refuge at some VP bar. I was tricked by the employee entrance at the back of SLS, eventually found my way to the front. My brother suggests a frozen drink to cure my ills, and I eventually find solace inside the Strat. Pina Colada and a quad. 929.JPG 930.JPG
Catch the Deuce which lets me off behind Four Queens, find my way back to Kings Bar and draw myself four queens.

    . 931.JPG
Now back to Binion's Cafe for the legendary pastrami sandwich, compliments of the Binion's Casino App. Served with potato salad and a pickle, my fifteen dollar credit falls a quarter short with the added Bud Light. So twenty five cents and a three dollar tip makes a very satisfying and tasty lunch. 932.JPG

I hate looking forward to good biscuits and gravy and being disappointed.

Back to the room to regroup. One of the things I like about the second floor Tower rooms is the opportunity to bypass the elevator and enter the casino Kenny Epstein style.

Picked up two more premium quads, retrieved a piece of pizza from the kiosk coupon and headed to the craps table.
    937.JPG 939.JPG
Off to the craps tables. No pics but a quick story. Player to my right is betting nickels and tweaking, can't stand still, putting bets everywhere. I'm working on point ten when he drops twenty five dollars on boxcars and screams at me "I need a twelve shooter!" So I oblige and throw one. Stick taps in front of him "$750", twice more then the dealer finally gets the nod from the pit boss and pays. He goes crazy like I just made him right for the night. He grabs three reds and tosses them into the air. He says thanks as the chips magically land in my rail together and upright as if he had set them there. I take it as a sign and throw them out "three way hard ten". Of course I make it because there's magic afoot. He is still too busy celebrating and I have to explain why he has thirty five dollars in front of him. Still up about four hundy on the trip at the end of day two.

    Day Three

I was expecting company for breakfast but my friend had a bit of the Vegas Flu after watching the Knights game yesterday. So I put five hundy in the wallet and proceeded to California via Binion's for some Loco Moco. Snapped a previously obstructed view of the Plaza on the way.

At the top of the escalator is a 'secret door' which leads to an outside staircase and one of the most popular Downtown views since the Las Vegas Club came tumblin' down. My devices and these pics are giving me fits!

I was going to leave but what is a visit to Main Street Station without a scratcher. So I went to the bar and three scratchers later I was ahead 40 bucks for the visit. Even caught a three dollar scratcher, my first.
