I’m almost certain all the Cabana Suite room numbers start with a 6. If you are in the first floor of the Cabana Suites, your room number would be 61XX. Second floor would be 62XX, and so on up to the Fifth floor.

Go ahead and stay in the Cabana suites. Don't stay in the tower and take my new remodeled room. They're a secret and man are they nice. I'm not going to post pics because then I'll never be able to get one again.

Something that I learned on my last trip. The 10th floor in the tower apparently belongs to the host (Nords). Everyone on that floor there is comped by the host. On my last visit, I emailed Nords about getting an extra night comped. Not a problem. In addition, I got some soft drinks, extra water and a fruit basket. Also. all of the suites in the tower end in "00". I am not sure who gets them and when. I did get a designer suite once. I thought is was very nice.

Did you use the $20 trick, or did you just get the upgrade from the host?
I am leaning toward going with the tower room... I'm hoping that the A/C works well & that I get a fairly high floor....a "designer suite" would sure be nice though... guess I'll ask...all they can say is yes or no.

Wow - that 4 poster bed is hideous but the bathroom an amazing upgrade. I really hope they decide to get ride of the 4 posts. Makes the room look cluttered.

They've put in some laminate/hardwood flooring as well which is nice. The bed is more comfortable than the old ones. Yeah, the posts aren't much to look at but the new room is nice. As you mention, especially the bathroom.

Sigh...when will the universe finally move on from that goddamned subway tile in bathrooms? Enough already. Aside from that and the four post bed, I like the remodel.

I have stayed in El Cortez before on a comp. I love the fact that my fridge was filled with sodas and water, and the fruit basket. It is a lot better than the cheap sweets and nuts I get as gift baskets at other places.

If it hasn't already happened, it won't be long before someone breaks one of those posts off demonstrating their mad stripper skills.

Do those four poster beds come with ropes and restraints?

Roccoscollar - Did they remove the window in the tub/now shower area? I am now seeing frosted glass between the vanity area and the shower/toilet. When the sun comes up in the morning, the room is going to light up and blast me out of bed. Do they have have a fix for that?

So what's wrong with the Pavillion rooms? I always though it sounded fun to have a room attached to the parking garage but some things are better as a concept than an actual thing.

The window/glass in the shower is still there. I just close the bathroom door when it's sleepy time. Plus, the remodeled rooms are only on the 2nd floor as of now.

Agreed that the posts are bad looking, hopefully they change this going forward. I'm kind of surprised they are not selling them as "premium" tower rooms while they are still in the process of renovating the old ones like the Cal did.

I think you have to request them since there are only a few. My host assigned me one back in Feb and now I'm requesting upon booking through comp. I could be wrong though.
