The 10th anniversary celebration of the world’s largest electronic dance music festival coming to Las Vegas will have to wait: The Electric Daisy Carnival has officially been postponed.

Originally set to take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 15-17, EDC has been rescheduled for one of two weekends in October a source confirms, the latest concert casualty amid coronavirus concerns.

With big names like Chainsmokers, Tiesto and David Guetta among the more than 250 acts booked this year, EDC sold out all tiers of tickets in a little over 48 hours after passes went on sale last September, a record for the event.

    Per a news report:

The festival was set to expand to its largest dimensions yet in 2020, occupying even more of the speedway grounds, as EDC has grown into a massive gathering, an adult playground of light, sound and amusement rides that was expected to draw over 450,000 fans this year.

My kids are both really into the EDM music festivals. My daughter said every festival has been postponed until Sept/Oct. An entire year of festivals crammed into one or two months. Attendance is going to be way down because they will have to pick and choose which they will attend.

I do. Don't really attend these multi-stage events, but go to Encore Beach Club occasionally.

Indeed. Coachella also in October, probably some overlap among their fan bases. Also, many people who had planned to go are furloughed or laid off and won't have the cash. This all assumes there is no resurgence and it is safe to congregate in October (i.e. football season).

I suspect everyone saw this coming. Probably be a lot more events (of all kinds) cancelled over the next few weeks.

Remind me to avoid that weekend. It seems to be drawing a worse and worse crowd. I've gone a couple of times toward the end of it and I can't sit for very long before being asked by someone for money. Most of them usually have some garbage story to go along with it.

We were there during the last one -- in Vegas not at the festivities. What a shit show of craziness. It was actually kinda fun.

Excellent. This should keep Ezekiel Elliott out of trouble this offseason!

Not that I'd plan to be there but one year we were and about 4 kids came to the pool in the morning one day at Wynn. They obviously had not been to bed and were still feeling the effects of their drug of choice. They were dressed as cats and not bothering anyone but did occasionally purr and laugh:popcorn:
