I'm headed back to LV (thank you work for subsidizing my trips). I'm a low roller and generally frugal traveler. Not interested in chasing comps per se, but wondering if there are other casinos where my level of play might result in comps. I'm bringing $500/day gambling budget (which is slightly up from prior) - historically I've had between $2,500 - $4,000 coin in per day, primarily VP (90%) with some slots mixed in (10%).

I've got myself established with El Cortez for decent offers (3 nights Cabana Suites, $25 food, $25 FP) which I'm taking advantage of. (I'm also on the strip for three days on work's dime which is nice, but I won't be gambling much as I will be working long days). Unfortunately, the first weekend of my trip is during Life is Beautiful so prices are through the roof at my normal haunts. I'm cashing in hotel points to stay off-strip at the Four Points, so now have two gambling days to throw at a property or two where I'm not staying. Any suggestions on Downtown or relatively close off-strip properties that might generate comps on my normal coin in? I only make it to Vegas once or twice a year - ideally, I'd like to be able to piece together a week or so in Vegas on comps - 3 days El Cortez, 3 days new place, plus whatever scraps I pick up from Mlife/CET/wherever.

Orleans, Gold Coast, 4 Queens, or any of the Boyd properties downtown. I like the rooms at the downtown Grand, but I don't know anything about their VP offerings.

Rooms are sketchy but most any decent action at the Rio ought to earn midweek comps there, as well as Flamingo, Harrahs and Ballys on the Strip.

When I first got established at MSS I did about 3k-4k coin-in/day which was enough for marketing offers for rooms.

Outside of the golden nugget, probably just about anywhere downtown.

Thanks for all of the replies. I didn't realize I would have so many options. I'm a big fan of Downtown --- so I think I'm going to try my luck there: 4Q, Downtown Grand, and MSS all seem like good possibilities.
