Vegas Tonya
Margarita Connoisseur
I haven't written a trip report in a long time. I just have too much on my schedule these days. So I will start off with a CHEERS
to hopefully suck you into my story:
So here are the highlights of the 10th annual girls trip, we refer to as Drunkbowl.
Wednesday at 1208, I meet my girl Eileen at McCarran baggage claim. I greet her with a shot of sex on the beach. We shoot them while waiting for the carousel to start spinning.
We got to the hotel, Monte Carlo, and quickly checked in. We stayed at MC before and wanted to go again because they have a lazy river, wave pool and a regular pool. We got to our rooms and called the bell desk for our 15 bags...yes 15! Only 3 of those bags had clothes, the rest were booze. (I checked out with 3 bags to go home Tuesday).
We headed to Yard House in Town Square, South Strip, for dinner and drinks. They have happy hour from 3-6, 1/2 price appetizers and 1/2 price martinis. We were only going to have a couple martinis each, but the bartender asked us if we were going to have one of each....so the challenge was on. We immediately ruled out anything we wouldn't drink such as banana and coffee. So that left us with a selection of 16. We each ordered a different one and we would share the martini, so we tasted all of them. We has ham and pineapple pizze and spinach and cheese dip, they were both awesome. OUr bill was $68...not bad for food and 16 drinks!
Here we are after all those martinis...at least I'm still standing up!
We then headed to Carnaval Court and danced til about 1 and headed back to crash. We had appointments with the masseuse at 11am.
Thursday morning started with Rikki arriving and then massages at Massage Envy for 1 1/2 hours. I love that place! I'm glad I'm a member. Then we headed back to the hotel to the arrival of Chach...her car was still in valet and she was by the door...perfect timing!
We changed and headed to the pool to enjoy some lazy time. They have raft rentals for $14 a day or you can buy your own, smaller raft, for $10. We opted to just buy them so we had them for the 6 days. The pool there was crowded for a Thursday...actually it was crowded every day. Loungers are hard to find but we managed all but 1 day.
Thursday night we went to Excalibur, had dinner at Baja Fresh and then listened to the band in the lounge til about 2am. It was a good drinking, music listening night. Most of our nights were like that.
Friday afternoon we woke up and hit the pool once more. That evening with the arrival of Angela, we headed off to have dinner at Dick's at Excal..it was too long of a wait so we had Baja Fresh again and went to Carnaval Court. We danced, had Lucky Lemonades and partied the night away....then back to our hotel.
Carnaval Court:
Saturday, hit the pool again and lounged til evening. I can't remember where we went Saturday night....this is probably a good thing right?
Sunday we hit the pool again and yep...I can't remember what else we did that night either.
Monday was our last day on vacation. We skipped the pool, I ran a couple errands while the girls chilled in the room. I brought back some El Pollo Loco for them and they were happy! We ate and headed over to MGM and gambled a bit there until around 1am. I only lost $10. They had the best raspberry margaritas...and not that frozen crap, I ordered a margarita on the rocks with a shot of Chambord and all 6 of them were perfect.
I know a couple nights we did gamble at MC...we did head off to The Big Apple Bar in NYNY...but IT'S GONE! So that was a bummer. If it's not gone, they sure as hell moved it where I couldn't find it.
Tuesday morning, I got home around 1030, grabbed my kid and his best friend and headed back to the hotel so they could enjoy the lazy river and wave pool while I still had access.
We didn't eat at any fancy places, we ate Subway, Rubios, Manchu Wok and McDonald's there at MC for the most part. We don't do too much eating on vacation...So this extra 4 pounds from vacation is from all that booze! But it was worth it and I can't wait til next year. Good Times with my best girlfriends! I have the bestest friends in all the world and I am thankful!
P.S.
Some events may have happened on other days entirely. But this is what happened over the 6 nights.
