Great info! I thought there were more food options, and you all came thru! I also like the relative quietness of the second floor, and have always had quick, friendly service at the Vue.

Been wanting to check that place out. They usually have some cool bands come through and play there.

Am I safe to assume that the new Circa casino is probably going to be part of the one card players club?

I think that's one of the reasons why they went to the One Card. To unify all of their properties.

Yeah, it gets kinda loud at night. But, during the day it's good. Once they turn up the music, I usually head down to GG. But, if I stay at TheD I make sure to stay next to a dealer so they can hear me. Plus, most of them know how I play, so I don't have to say much most of the time.

I really want to give The D some play during my next trip. I stopped in there briefly in December for a match play and I like the vibe in there and the fact that comps can be used at some nice restaurants downtown. My base will always been Wynncore but I could see having a room there a night and crashing there one night after a heavy day of play and Le Thai!

    The D:
    1. The Vue Bar is better than the long bar. Better VP, faster service.
    2. Coney Island is now my late-night food choice since Mermaids closed. The fries are delicious
    3. Pretty good comps. Usually get a mailer for 4 nights, 50 dollar food comp
    4. The D Grill is good for breakfast.
    5. The D is too loud
    6. I use to love the old Fitzgeralds.... they used to have live music next to the escalators
    7. Speaking of escalators.... I usually see one drunkard fall down
    8. The rooms are ok. Basic and clean. All I need
    9. Defending the Caveman is an ok show.
    10. Elevators are different... they take some getting used to
    11. McDonalds is convenient for a cheap, quick meal
    12. Sigma Derby is fun.
    13. Their pool is the best in Vegas
    14. #13 above is sarcasm
    15. Overall... I recommend it

I don't think anyone has mentioned La Comida. You may also use your comps there!

Let me ask my current host if she has a list of all of the locations that "One Card" members can use comps at.

Just returned from DT yesterday. I must say I was pleasantly surprised on how much they have lowered the music volume during the day at both properties. I like this change a lot. I actually don't mind the loud music at night. I believe Derek when he says that it creates a "party atmosphere." I just HATED it during the day especially when you are trying to check in and have to scream at the front desk people to be heard. Glad for the change. I really liked the lower-keyed daytime vibe.

I like the D but its never been my favorite. I like what Derek + co did to the Golden Gate, aside from tightening up the games a bit. Its worth an ask for stay at the GG. the "new" suites are very nice!

I’m staying at the D in three weeks, so hearing that the background music volume was turned down is a positive. Right now I’m experiencing abnormally loud background music at times at the casino I play 15 miles away from my house. I don’t know where casino managers read where loud background music makes players play faster, more or longer, but hey guys, it DOESN’T! Maybe I’ll have to break out the set of earplugs I haven’t had to use for a long time.

I've actually used my headphones to deaden the sound. No music of my own, just a volume control for the ambient sound.

I knew that the comps could be used at a variety of places but I thought the monthly offer dollars could only be used at the places inside the D. Has this changed? That would be wonderful.

Correct. Monthly offers can only be used for the restaurants inside the D plus Project BBQ. Earned comp dollars can be used at all of the restaurants the DaiLun listed plus La Comida.

I really loved the Vintage Vegas room at the D. Decent video poker, and great service at the Vue Bar. I was not a huge fan of their rooms, however. While adequate, they are just a bit too minimalist for my tastes. There is enough room for a bigger desk and more chairs, at least in the room that I was staying in. I though the shower was so-so, and no idea why they did a curtain-less design that only has glass covering half of the shower stall. Made water splash out onto the floor. Maybe I am nitpicking! It is still a great option, and if I am able to get some offers there in the future, I will absolutely be back!
