Also having a drink at the patiobar at 4Q.. nice view, watching people walk by and drinking a corona :-D jummm
I was just up there and took a friend of mine that is a train enthusiast to the ramp. Now there are no signs saying you can't be there he walked through almost all the doors to the loading platform before his wife grabbed him and said lets go back. At this point we are walking around old overhead slot machine displays but he also wanted to get pictures of the mural so we got to get a closer look at it. The mural has 3 parts to it; the past, present, and future but the most unique thing about it is the small details. The are shadows of Vegas Vic, The Landmark, The El Rancho, The Stardust, The Frontier, The Blue Angels and more that I cannot remember. I will try and get copies of his pics and pot them here.
Took these photos last week. This is the mural of the old Amtrak exit ramp at the plaza. What I noticed upon closer inspection is the shadows of the hotels that are no longer there
Was the swimming pool that occupied the space Oscars in built with the original construction? I have pictures of Fremont street I took from the pool back in 1978.
Hey Ost, what kind of discount do you get at the kiosk at Cal? also, how are they for mixers there? Thanks.
One of my favorite spots has always been Chicago Brew Co., upstairs at 4Q. I think their food is very good. How does it compare to Triple 7 at MSS?
There is a bigger menu at 777. Sadly there is no VP. I at at Chicago brewing, got a sandwich and sliders it was very good but I prefer 777.
I think we should shut this thread down, j/k of course. Our secrets are getting too well known! We tried 3 times to get into Chicago Brew last week and it was always packed. The secret bathrooms at 4 Queens....busier than ever!
These are probably my two favorite downtown bar/restaurants. 777 has a big menu and good happy hour (potstickers, mmmm), is huge, and serves their awesome beers (High Roller Gold is my go-to). If only they had bartop VP! Chicago is much smaller, but has bartop VP, a view of the casino, and their deep dish is awesome. Great bartenders, too. Only downside here (for me, not for all) is that it's also a cigar lounge, so depending on how many smokers are in there with you, it can get really smoky.
