DTG is now offering a free shuttle between the hotel and Fashion Show Mall on the strip.

It picks up and drops off on the Ogden side of their corner main entrance.

I took these pics about 2 weeks ago.

Wow nice! And no I won't be the asshole that no-plays them, but if the DDB progressives suck, I can't make guarantees on quality of play. Lol

What are the requirements to ride? Hotel guests only? Fee? Casino play?

I believe you only need a DTG Rewards players card to board.

This is a brilliant move on their part... between DTG's location which is not exactly optimal, and its "modern/not quirky" character that doesn't quite click with the feel of Fremont Street, it's understandable why DTG's gaming floor wasn't getting much action for some time. This will get them a ton of foot traffic though. Might just take advantage of this on my upcoming trip.

Their hotel is doing booming business, which is why they are building the new tower. The casino action is picking up at night, especially the tables. The shuttle can only help.

Any idea how many seats are on the shuttle?

I can see LOTS of people staying on Fremont street using this.

I wonder how long it will be until they start limiting the shuttle to hotel guests?

I was told by the front desk staff it is for hotel guests only.

I was also told it is for registered hotel guests only.

That only makes sense that it is for hotel guests only.

The bus itself is like one of the smaller rental car shuttles. Probably seats around 20-24.

I did not take the shuttle, but saw it waiting twice. One time they had no takers. The other time, two people had players cards in their hands and were waiting for the driver to return and board. Which led me to believe just a DTG Rewards card was needed for boarding. I apologize for that.

While it might sound like it makes sense for the shuttle to be for hotel guests only, I don't think it will survive if they don't come up with a way to open it to non-hotel guests while still being beneficial to DTG.

If it is only for hotel guests, then the bus would probably be empty most of the time.
    this probably won't last long.

I walked over to the DTG yesterday and asked a lady at the front desk. She didn’t even know they had a shuttle, so she made a call to someone and they “confirmed” it’s for registered guests only. I honestly have no confidence in that answer though, no one seemed to be sure on anything I asked.

The email I got certainly made it sound like a perk for guests only.

When they limit these shuttles to guests only, then their only purpose is to remove guests from the property. If these shuttles are open to everyone, then they also bring in non-guests who in theory would be spending money to replace those guests you shuttled off elsewhere. Seems to me you would want the shuttle to be a perk for guests, but if not full, to bring more players to your casino. I wonder how many people stopped visiting Rio when they stopped the shuttles?

I'm sure the driver wouldn't care if given a healthy tip.

I'm sure it is for hotel guests only, but they will probably operate like Boyd's shuttle has: If it's full - they check - empty - they'll take anyone. BigShot55 is right - when in doubt - tip!!

Exactly. The ideal formula would seem to be, board registered guests first, then allow anyone else with a players card to board if there is space available. Since it's a simple two-stop loop, back and forth, you don't have to worry about a guest being turned away at the next stop because the bus is full.
