I agree, a list for every casino uptown, downtown, and off strip would be nice so that we can all plan our gaming schedules when we go to Vegas.

Sounds like a great sticky for the Casino Gaming section. If you build it, I will sticky it. :)

In a response to a QOD gaming day inquiry in Las Vegas Advisor, the reason for secrecy is that casinos are worried about table players circumventing the $10,000 transaction reporting requirement (for the 24 hour period). Some casinos even threaten termination for divulging; if that's true, I guess I would cut the cashiers, et al, some slack.

I suppose the casinos also would be worried about slot players, too, not just table players.

That seems silly. If a player plays games with the CTR and the casino does their thing okay - it is the player that could get in trouble I would suspect.

There is another person here that knows much more that understands this better. hope he jumps in

Meanwhile - if 2am is the cutoff at The D - I think I screwed myself on the last trip as I played until about 2:30 - CRAP!!!

I feel your pain. I made the exact same mistake (till 2:30) at 4Q the trip before last.

If you're talking about the $10k daily CTR, FinCEN doesn't care about a casino's "business day", they go on a 24 hours midnight to midnight calendar day.

The Las Vegas Advisor said the opposite, and even put 'normal business of the casino' in quotes like it was from a FinCen publication or interview. I don't know which 'day' definition is right for $10k reporting but, ironically, most of the comments to that answer seem to be more concerned with the ADT gaming hours issue. I guess none of them have seen the VMB sticky thread about that topic.

I used to investigate cash transactions at a large national bank, and it was a calendar day. It could be possible due to the 24-hour nature of a casino cage that they have some other rule that they follow for tracking 24 hours.

How about slot play that starts up again at midnight the next day like the plaza? You can do 3 days in a row swiping at the kiosk for free play starting at midnight and is good for up to 72 hours for each swipe. If you redeem day 1 lets say today at 11:45pm, then day 2 after midnight, then play, would it stay in the same gaming day or trigger another gaming day? I am curious to find out. Some casinos like the locals have free play that start up at midnight or a promotion that is weekly or monthly. Like some like to take trips end of the month to beginning of month in order to take advantage of as much free play as possible.
