    Any "Do's" or "Don'ts" on a bus ?
    .
While in Vegas....usually riding The Duece or the Airport Bus
from Downtown ( can't remember the specific bus number ? )
I have two things I do....
#1....I'm always wearing shorts......but NO SKIN will touch a bus seat !
No Way !!!!......I've seen some nasty, soiled seats ( and people.)
    .
    #2....I ain't grabbing any poles ( handles ) either !
I spread my feet and balance as best I can.....with a little help
    from my butt.
    .
    How 'bout you ?
    Sheldon wears " Bus Pants".

I don’t ride the bus. I’m not a snob or a prude, but I got tired of hearing the F bomb every other word. And a bunch of 20 something young men who don’t give up their seats for women and the elderly— get off your ass. Plus they pack the bus like a sardine can.

The monorail has become disgusting too. It smelled like urine back in August.

So, how about the seats on the plane?
Of the transit at the airport
    Or escalators
    Or shuttle buses

It never ends. I am from the school that exposure to most of this stuff is best handled by our amazing bodies.

Don't really ride the bus, but similarly always wear long pants on the plane. I don't want to be rubbing hairy legs with the person next to me.

A lot of this germophobe stuff I've never even heard of until reading it here.

I call it that my antibodies are building up resistance.

The pole-grabbing is not an issue with me; I usually visit a restroom in a casino before handling food, and playing poker, the chips are greasier and dirtier than a pole on a bus.
I check there's nothing greasy or dirty on bus seats before sitting, but same applies to restaurant seats and casino chairs.
I sit on the aisle seat on a bus so that I don't get blocked in by someone who doesn't care about washing clothes or personal hygiene.

Welcome to Anecdote v. Science v. Paranoia Theater. ;)

One part of the audience displays a BMOC sense of bravura: Any microbe makes me stronger. Of course, it that was the case we would have long ago dispatched with drugs, vaccines and epidemiology, and all manner of cleaning products, as all the super-plagues during human history have rendered us immune.

One part of the audience sees a sneeze in a public space and braces for the return of the Black Death and then showers in a rain of hand sanitizer.

One part knows we're rather tough and adaptable, yet the continuing evolution of our species can't do it alone. Nominal precautions are called for but let's not go overboard.

Gross and health-threatening are not one and the same.

Oops, and to answer the opening inquiry: I don't ride the bus in Vegas so I have no answer.

I don't ride the bus but I do check the seats at slot machines after sitting in a piss soaked one at Golden Nugget :vomit:Even worse, I had to take a taxi back to the strip to shower and throw out the dress I was wearing. I did get some plastic bags to sit on in the cab. Disgusting!

I don't ride the bus. I always look prior to sitting down (or when touching poles or armrests, etc). For air travel I wear natural fiber clothing with legs and arms covered (in the event of fire I don't want my clothing melted into my skin).
