Do you prefer single king or double queen when solo?

I always get my own room on group trips to vegas. I always get a single king because I like extra walking space and sometimes you get little things like an extra table and chair. Or a small coffee table set up. But my friends always thought it weird that i would opt out of a double queen. I guess they like the extra bed for some reason. I can;t imagine how it could benefit me but so many people have commented on it that i guess there are reasons i;m not thinking about on the pros of a second bed

I've only gone solo once. I asked for a king, BUT one advantage of two queens is that if you want to skip housekeeping one day, you still have a brand new bed with fresh sheets to hop into!:love::love:
(I'm a sucker for fresh sheets!)

I typically get a single king, but one time there was none available when I was staying at the Hyatt in Tahoe so I got two queens. It was weirdly nice just because I got to choose a bed and the second bed had my stuff on it. I honestly can't explain why. It was nice to have. Give it shot, you've got nothing to lose haha.

I only take a room with double queen, when no room with one single king is available. I don't see a point in taking a room with double queen when traveling solo.

:I also love the room that the king allows. But if I am booking a ways out I do the double queen in case someone can come on the trip with me!

I book a king, but I'll take a queen on arrival if it gets me in a room right away.

I always book 2 queens in case someone wants to tag along but will take whatever has the best view or location, which is my top priority. All things being equal I like 2 queens to be able to keep my suitcase and miscellaneous purchases on the second bed. Those luggage racks are too small to open the suitcase. It’s the best when packing to go home.

I see the second bed as an albatross in the room. Useless. I always go for the king but will settle for the queen if needed.

I have the same view as some of the other posters-double the beds and pillows, so go for the double queen. Also on the last day of the trip before I leave, the second bed gets the suitcase and everything that I brought put on it. I bury the dirty laundry at the bottom of the suitcase and keep what may be clean left up top by using an empty laundry bag or plastic sacks to separate what needs to hit the washing machine when I get home from what's left of the clean stuff. My carry-on gets similarly organized-have boarding pass out, and I use a manila envelope to organize receipts, reservations, slot club information, etc., and have it in chronological order, so when I get home, it goes into a drawer along with all the other envelopes that I have saved for primarily LAS trips taken for the last 20+ years.

Have a king at home and don't want to be less comfy on vacation so I always request a king and have never had to wait but would do so in order to guarantee it. The question would be if I was at a place like Harrah's and they only had a renovated double queen or a non-renovated king. That's probably the only circumstance where I'd take the queens but I'd be a bit ticked. I'm sure I'd get over it quick.

When solo I prefer king. But like others will take anything as long as it's available at time of check-in. I don't like to wait for rooms.

King, in case I meet a girl who wants to play touch football.

    Also great for midget orgies.

King whenever I travel (unless I'm splitting a room, as I often do in Vegas). We have a King at home, but also have the wife and a dog in bed, so I always look to get a king, and often sleep diagonally to take up as much of the bed as I can

Seeing as how I am used to sleeping on the first 18 inches of width on the right of a double bed, size doesn't matter:(

I dont do it anymore but I used to get a kick out of having two beds when I was solo. After I would shower instead of using towels to dry off I'd run in and jump on the bed I wasnt sleeping in and waller around until dry. Why I have no idea. Guess its no worse than what some people do in hotel beds.

King all the way. I like the extra space in the room.

For many hotels it is easier to get a room with 2 queens.

Like Ezzy, I usually book 2 queens so I can spread out my stuff on the 2nd bed. I can also use one bed to sleep in and the other to sit and read on. When I go to conventions I usually use the second bed to take everything out and go through. I don't want to sit or put stuff on the floor to look over, too dirty IMHO.
