Saw this question on another board and was curious what the responses would be on this one. We left the MGM one morning at 2:30am to head to Peppermill to get some breakfast and cut the taxi line, some of the looks we got from people leaving from Hakkasan could have killed. Anyone have bad/entertaining experiences while cutting the line?

Mostly looks that could suggest they are thinking:
"Damn old people, who do they think they are cutting in line like that?"
"they must be high roller's or vip's"
"X%@!" - what the ?"

Just discreetly show your card and don't make eye contact..you earned it...:woohoo:

Nope. I kind of get a kick out of the dirty looks from others actually lol. That sounds terrible I know.

Nope, we are Boyd Emerald and have no problems using the perk we have earned to skip lines.

I cut the line to cash out at the cashier and some guy says to his girlfriend that "he must be rich".

No, I paid (lost) enough for that perk. The only really bad reaction I had from someone, was when I got in the diamond line for the cashier, and someone in the regular line got irate when I went to the window before him. The cashier just told him that was my right. I just played dumb (which is not a stretch for me) and ignored him.

Guilt? No way. Smug? Nope. It's kind of silly to feel smug when it probably cost you 5 grand to cut that cab line.

I mainly just use it for checking in, and at the cage at Caesars.

Perhaps their dresses were just on a little too tight!

RICHARD

I think my boyfriend would have been more than fine waiting in line behind all the women in tight dresses. Luckily for me one of the group was in dire need of food.

I used the Diamond taxi line at Caesar's once when the regular line was anout 25 people long. I walked right up and showed the guy my card and I was in a cab seconds later. I didn't want to make eye contact with the "little people" in the regular line, but as the cab was pulling off, I looked back and saw some "if looks could kill" eexpressions. But, at least I didn't have to wait 30 minutes. Guilt feelings...nah!

I agree that it is a perk that is earned for the right to skip lines. Heaven knows how much was spent to have this perk.

Just me, but I wouldn't use the perk to skip lines when going for food. I'll wait my turn.

Not feel guilty to skip the line.
The truth is every time when I don't use the Emerald line at Boyd's (honestly that's when the regular line just 1 or 2 people in front of me),
the person behind the counter always tells me "You are Emerald, you don't need to wait in that line."

Over the summer at mandala bay, we attend the MJ One show also happen to be Duran Duran concert anyhow after the both event went outside and saw taxi line!!!! Holy cow, line was litterly around the hotel never saw it like that before
And being platinum status really paid off walked all the way to the front as people looking on.... showed my card and got into very first cab first up... don't think people liked it at all...but even at Resturant etc it all pays off.

Where we appreciate it is at Bacchanal where the lines can be unreal or other restaurants. It doesn't bother us as we have earned this benefit and like said above no need to be smug about it. Most people understand, but it sure is just another nice perk of 7*.................Rick

We checked in at Harrah's AC via the Platinum line. There was a short line in Platinum and a long Gold line. A guy in the Gold line got upset they took us before the Gold people and raised a stink with the check in clerks. They told him to settle down and get back in line.

I used to feel really guilty, to the point I'd tell the cashier to let the person in the standard line go ahead of us if they were there first.

BUT I did this one final time at a buffet, for two people that turned out to be with a big group that was still debating about who was paying what. (They had the 30 minute wait to figure it out.)

Not only were they not gracious at all, they looked at us like we were chumps for offering, dawdled, acted like it was their due, then tried to SLOWLY bring the whole group through, paying one at a time. (We were just offering to let the one couple through who had already paid....not the great, thundering herd who had NOT paid yet....)

Well, their rudeness infuriated the staff, the lady held up her hand like a cop and firmly told them NO. She then was super nice to us and asked up to come through. She had seen us try to be nice and it actually made her protective of us, I really appreciated it.

Now I no longer feel guilty. I'm always polite, but it's probably the perk I like most on mlife! :)
