We did end up going to The Dispensary on Decatur - lovely store. No big displays, but we had a knowledgeable budtenders who helped us find what we wanted in their menu, or make recommendations for substitutes if needed. Over a certain amount ($80 or $100?) you get to spin a wheel and win a prize - hubs and I both won disposable cartridge/batteries. Not sure how convenient it is (we were out doing things in a rental car) but I'd recommend and I'd go again. Menu online, curbside pickup (and specials just for curbside I think), good specials.

We only go to one place and not going to another. And when you are buying a few hundred dollars worth, the price does add up. But for small purchases, matters less.

I will say that Planet 13 is cool to visit, but their prices are much higher.

At our first Vegas dispensary (2017?) we bought very little and paid $500. This time we bought much more for ~$200. When you're buying more than one day or weekend's worth, price is a concern. And also when you have a rental car, proximity to the Strip is far less important. Preferable, really, for me if it's far away...

Popped into The Sanctuary - it's near Wedding Chapel Row, the Arts District - and just across the street from a Deuce bus stop. Really good selection (I was just shopping edibles today) and serene shop. If you're going to breweries or anything else around here, we would recommend!

    My question.

    Would you rather
    A) pay $30+ for a cab ride to a dispensary to pay 1 container of some gummies.

    Or

    B) Take the vegas time/effort to try the free ride on the planet13 or Jade Cannabis shuttle for one container of gummies?

I believe my time is more valuable rather than wait on the free ride. What I do when I fly in is have Kaptyn make a stop and I’ve already preordered on the app for easy pickup.

I know. Usually I take a ride share or cab and on this occasion, I am flying in by myself, single female in unknown city (only really stay in the strip). If I was with someone, I would rather have one person go get the goodies and one person stay with the stuff in the cab/rideshare waiting for me. Since I'm by myself, I'd rather settle into the hotel room first and take a breath after stressful travelling.

Now, what about this kaptyn option. Would you feel comfortable being alone and leaving your stuff in the car, while the driver waits for you?

Do you live in a legal state? Bring gummies with? (Just repack in a gumdrop bag and only in your carryon…)

I'm in Canada so Cannabis is federally legal but it is illegal to cross the border with it. I also don't want to be detained by American authorities.

Where are you staying? Cookies is right beside Sahara, so potentially walkable depending where you're staying. Probably not the cheapest option, but if you consider cab or lyft cost in vs walking or a 2 hour bus pass it washes out or better.

Ahh. Then. No. Didn’t have that piece of data when I made that suggestion.
An FYI Oasis pays for your rideshare. Just show them your receipt. At least one way is covered. My trip to Oasis was quick

I use the cough drop trick. Wrap gummies in the wrappers and mix in bag. I’d buy in LV but I need a “higher” dose

First time I carried home from LV in March was the first time I encountered a dog at the security line. We had to walk in tandem as the handler walked the dog in figure 8’s around us.
    A) I was a new user to begin with at age 53
    B) first time therefore I ever carried on a plane
    C) talked myself into acting real casual, knowing that these dogs were bomb not drug sniffers.

But can’t say I wasn’t nervous as all get out.

All was fine. The dog and his well armed handler let me walk right on through. They didn’t want my 50g of gummies. What was I even worried about!
Next trip I just threw in my carryon and didn’t think twice.

Now. International. Through customs. No way.

Since I am the OP of this thread, and I specifically stated I had a rental car and wanted local recs, these "questions" and followup aren't pertinent to this thread.

What you said about the dogs being bomb (rather than drug) dogs is true.

IME and IANAL and speaking to TSA/local law enforcement, drug enforcement is primarily a local jurisdiction issue. I would (obviously) never fly anywhere with marijuana because it's a drug and drugs are bad, mmmmmkay?, but if one were to fly from a rec-legal state to another (say, California to Nevada), nobody cares. Even if/when TSA rifles through one's carry-on and find personal consumption level pot, they don't care. Theoretically and in actuality.
