Okay, let me clear up a couple of things.

First of all, I did check spam folders and junk mail folders. Nothing.

I also left 2 separate voice mails, on Ashley's voice mail. Even went as far and told the CSR rep that she was not responding to me. They transferred me to casino services, told the person that answered the phone, that I had left 2 voice mails, different days on Ashley's voice mail. I was told, "Oh, I'm sure she got them, she is probably just busy." End of call.

I'm not making up the issue's that happened to us at the Plaza. Others have had issue's so I'm not the only one.

Let's face it, when mgr's, housekeeping supervisors, aren't summoned when asked by a guest, something is wrong. And yes, I happen to know casino's have mgrs./ supervisors 24/7, I worked in one.

Maybe the Plaza has improved since our last stay. I certainly hope so.

I just wanted to share our experiences we had at the Plaza. Didn't want to upset anyone or not be believed in my comments. :)

Easy. There are lots of choices. If someone reads and moves ahead then suffers the same issues, at least they knew it going in. Everyone has different experiences in LV with the same agendas. It is very helpful to share both + & -'s. If we can't share information without feeling attacked (possibly the wrong word) we've lost one of the more valued things about sharing experiences.

Like HappyGirl....I am also a happy girl whenever I visit the Plaza.:)
I have stayed twice a year, usually for 5 or 6 days, for many years.

Just returned from another wonderful 5 night stay. My daughter and I and her best friend had two rooms on the 8th floor of the North Tower. Check in was super quick and easy at noon on a Thursday. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. We both elected not to have the rooms serviced but just went into the hall and asked housekeeping for towels or whatever we needed in the mornings.

We used the fabulous pool every day we were there and really enjoyed it.
Love the music and the pina coladas.

We visited the Brightside cafe four times and Pop up Pizza twice. The food we ate was great at all times. I am a huge fan of that French Toast Panini at Brightside.
We were so busy I never got a chance to take my daughter to Oscar's Lounge for their awesome Happy Hour.
    Next trip!

The Plaza casino has changed a lot since my last visit in the fall of 2017. The Player's desk moved to another wall. There are TONS of new slot machines! The bar near the South Tower has been replaced with a huge wall of new slots. There is still a bar facing the sports book and the Omaha bar is still there. I was happy to see that Wonder Boogie is still playing there.

I will be back as soon as it is humanly possible.

I'd bet a testicle they aren't nearly as rude as Golden Nugget Employees. Holy fuck, they're terrible.

I agree Golden Nugget has plenty of bad apples. But lets not downplay the rude people at Plaza!

The staff is the only reason why I wont go back there. Front desk, hosts even the maids seemed to have attitudes. I've stayed in probably 50+ casino hotels in my life and they take the cake. And unless you are @Blonde_4_ever who will pimp up Plaza every chance she gets (see above your post) in exchange for her upgraded suite and positive reviews on her blog, a lot of people complain about their staff.

I think @tee6395 nailed it earlier in this thread, the building is full of union workers that are VERY difficult to get rid of. Way too many protections, even for terrible ones. Most of the really bad ones have been there forever and are totally not likely to quit any time soon.

Yup. I do all of my bookings via email. Even at casinos where I'm buddies with my host, and we usually chat or text. But if I'm booking, have a question on an offer, or asking for something up front I always email. Why? So I have proof of what correspondences took place.

My host is off when I'm staying, and no one knows anything about additional free play? He is the email. I'm given a regular room instead of my upgraded suite? Here is the email.

Solid plan. And easy. And to those tied to the phone, send an email afterwards thanking for all the perks so they reply with welcome. Same same.

Grid...in ALL of my stays at the Plaza I have never ONCE been in anything but a normal "run of the house" room.
Never been in a suite of any sort, no penthouses, no limo from the airport, no free meals, no special perks of any sort.
If you look at my trip reports where I posted pictures you can clearly see it is just a normal room in the North Tower facing the mountains.

As for the Plaza giving me "positive reviews on her blog" ..I don't even know WTH that means?
    Where are they doing that?
    Care to show some proof?
If I wrote a review of the Plaza on Vegas Bright they occasionally would share it on Facebook or Twitter as every business does. I don't think they know my personal blog exists.
You have a lot of nerve to toss around false statements that have no basis in truth.

No I have never encountered an openly rude person at the Plaza.....maybe some that were stressed out or distracted,
    but never rude.
Perhaps that has something to do with the way I treat people.

I agee that @Grid spoke out of turn regarding your situation with the Plaza. He knows not of what he speaks on that front - for sure.

However, I treat people VERY nicely and am ALWAYS in a great mood upon arriving to Vegas and have been met on nearly EVERY occasion with a bad attitude. We're talking completely out-of-line attitude. I do want to clarify that it is ALWAYS the SAME two people. One middle-aged woman and one slightly younger man. The other guy I've gotten is NOT rude, but he appears to feel or at least look put-out to have to check someone in.

It is definitely a blessing to have those machines as long as you aren't picky. It is unfortunate that these folks cannot be fired or replaced. This is a known fact. I have spoken to not only numerous employees there that recognize the problem, but FRONT DESK MANAGEMENT and other patrons.

I'm glad you haven't had the experience @Blonde_4_ever . I hope that continues, but you can't negate the fact that so many of us have had that experience - again and again.

The Plaza is trying. I see that and appreciate it. I am one of the lucky ones. My host realizes how stressful the front desk can be and has made every effort to make sure I don't deal with them. Their hosting staff is amazing and is the number one reason I still patronize the place.

Have never encountered GN staff as I don't patronize the place. If the comparison shows that GN is worse than Plaza front desk...holy hell. My head would probably explode. I don't understand the theory behind trudging to work everyday and making other people miserable. *shrug* Maybe get a job where the touristy public isn't involved.

Ten plus checkins at the Plaza front desk and no rudeness.
    None. Zip.
I just want people to have a balanced view of things.

I have never encountered rude employees at the Plaza either. In fact, I have found them far friendlier than other hotel employees.
    I guess YMMV....

Huh? I said you "will pimp up Plaza every chance she gets (see above your post) in exchange for her upgraded suite and positive reviews on her blog" How did you take YOU giving them positive reviews on your blog, for THEM giving YOU positive reviews on THEIR blog? How does that even make sense? Please do not question my nerve for something I didn't even say.

Are you going to tell all of us that you do not get a free room at Plaza? From one of your owns posts on Vegas Bright "I have been accused of being a shill for the Plaza". Clearly I am not the only one to pick up on all of this.

I am just pointing out the obvious here in this thread. Why would you even choose to post, yet another, awesome and glowing review of the Plaza in this thread?

A thread that was created because someone was upset with the service they received, and chose to book elsewhere? A thread where @merlin says they do not have their shit together there. Where @dedhd rants about not getting a reply out of someone there. Where @K-9treatbaker shares with us about how rude the desk was to them there, how their host there ignores them and they are looking to stay elsewhere now. Where @tee6395 tells us, in regards to the staff, "They are rude. It has been posted about in numerous threads on numerous Vegas sites and Yelp, Google Reviews, etc. It is the same few employees over and over again. Hopefully you have had or will have a better welcome than a great many of us."

So many people also ranted, in a thread about ranting about the Plaza staff, and you came in a week later to not add to the conversation, but to gush about how "wonderful your stay was" "How fabulous the pool was" How you Love the food, the music, the slots, the band ETC. I know I am not the only one that sees this as odd. But I guess I was the only one jerk enough to draw attention to it.

This is not a thread about "Share your thoughts and reviews on the Plaza" Your post seemed way out of left field for a thread called "Disappointed with Plaza". Why would you chose to post that glorious review of wonderful Plaza here if not to shill?

I have no beef with you. I enjoy your posts and I have read your blog. But please do not try spinning this. The Plaza gives you stuff, free rooms or whatever. You have admitted you don't pay for at least your room on many sites. Even though you are a exclaiming super low roller. You run your blog as an affiliate, so you make money off of people that go there and click on your ads. And while I find your "donate" buttons tacky, I have nothing against capitalism. So why would me, and other people, think you are not shilling for the Plaza? It is OK to do! Just don't act high and mighty when you get called out for it every now and then. I know people have done so to you in other sites as well. I don't think we (us) are being mean. Its just some *Smack Our Heads* when we see yet another Plaza is so Great post from you.

I'm above reproach. I wont spin an article when I'm staying comped. My bog generates zero money for me from all the people that read my stupid adventures. Again, not passing judgement. I just couldn't help but point out what you keep doing. I like things/places too but come on. If they arent giving you anything more then a free room and maybe some more show tickets, they should. You really are working hard for them with all this spinning!

I have recently been in need of moving my play from the Tropicana to a new host casino in Las Vegas. Changes at the Trop have caused this and I am sorry that I had to leave the property and host I had for years.

In my search I reached out, by phone message, to numerous casino properties in Las Vegas. Some returned my call and some did not. I have never played any amount of time at the Plaza but always enjoyed a walk through on my visits to downtown. Curt was the first casino host to return my call and when he did he said he was currently on vacation but he wanted to acknowledge my call and asked if he could reach out upon his return for a quick discussion. I told I appreciated the call and I looked forward to speaking with him soon. During his time away on vacation numerous hosts called and made exceptional offers to get my play but I never committed to anyone because there was something about a person reaching out on his vacation that stuck with me.

Upon his return he did exactly as he said and called to speak with me. I told him about the offers made from other casinos and he did the normal interview and checks on me during the call. The offer he made was a "Plaza" offer and he said that he hoped that was enough to earn our play at the Plaza and he ensured that my stay at the Plaza would be more than I expected. I agreed to bring my play to the Plaza and will be staying for 5 days in October of this year.

    1) The hosts at the Plaza are professional
    2) They called me back (FROM VACATION!!!!!)
    3) The made an offer appropriate for the property
    4) They were friendly
    5) They were prompt
    6) They kept their word
    7) They made me WANT to give them a try

With all that being said, there will have to a lot wrong with the property to over come the ground work that has been laid by Curt.

I hope this helps if this discussion.

I sure hope it doesn't turn into a fight @Blonde_4_ever is pretty connected. She often talks about her personal relationship with Jonathan Jossel, the CEO of the Plaza. I don't need any trouble with someone that has a Las Vegas CEO's on speed dial. I don't want to get kicked out of town!

You are accusing her of getting comps in return for good reviews. You are accusing her of being dishonest. You owe her an apology.

@jimboguy Ah yes, but it can be so entertaining, especially if you don't have a dog in the fight. I'm retired, so it doesn't take much to amuse me.
