I haven't been to Rio or PHo's Diamond Lounge yet but:

Flamingo's is the smallest and worst
Caesar's is the largest and best

When I say worst, I don't mean it's necessarily bad.

Paris is 2nd best and Harrah's is 3rd.

Caesar's DL is large yet still gets a line. Harrah's is the most hidden (no signs) and is actually large as well but with nice décor.

I'll check out PHo today and maybe Rio.

Another note: when you pay no resort fees, you have no wifi. If you have wifi hotspot on your cellphone, it's faster anyway. I run my "hacked" Fire Stick and laptop from it with no issues.

The $100 vouchers have to be used the same day and at the same venue all at once. This means if your cost is $50 at a restaurant, you can't save the extra $50 for use elsewhere. Me and wife both are Diamond so are using both vouchers for Sterling Brunch which runs $85. If you are going to use your voucher, that's a good bet.

From what I see, this makes Caesar's properties my go to spot for play for now on. I don't see the benefit of play at MGM since here, I start high and can remain high.

We've already booked Atlantis as well. Caesar's will get my money.

edit: I must add, the DLs don't skimp on drinks. They are strong and quality. My wife got a Mudslide and Long Island Iced Tea and I got an Adios MF and Long Island Iced Tea. Service is top notch.

You have to go to the high limit slot area at the Rio to access the Diamond lounge. You check in at the desk and then take the elevator to the 2nd floor which opens up to lounge area. It's nothing too exciting, there is no bar to sit at, just tables and couches. It is divided into two rooms, but I have never been there when it was so crowded that they were using both areas. They have lots of TV's to watch your favorite game while munching on the buffet food and having a beverage; it's a nice quiet place to chill out for awhile. You have to take the escalator up to the 2nd level and bear right down the hallway in order to get to the diamond lounge at the PHo. Again, there is no bar area to sit at, but plenty of tables and lots of TV's for viewing. It's pretty laid back and I have never been in there when it has been crowded. Caesar's always seemed to be crowded/busy. Several times there has been a line waiting to get into the Diamond lounge at Harrah's. Fortunately, on my solo trips there has always been a seat at the bar. The bartenders, Robert and Orhan, are great guys and can really mix up a great cocktail.

Wifi in the room is free for Diamond and & Seven Stars. I know when you sign in it looks like it is going to charge you, but it never does. If you have a question, there is a phone number to call on the sign in screen.

We like the DL at PHo. They usually have specialty drinks on little placards on the tables based on different events. They've had specialty drinks in February for Valentine's Day, 4th of July. They even had some last year for the GGWU.

  • Sammy Hagar, Mad Apple - fun weekend with my niece!
  • Rod Stewart!
I liked the lounge at Rio. There are actually windows looking out over the pool area and soft cushy chairs.

Now I disagree with this posters ranking of Diamond Lounges. I would also like to clear up a misconception about size. Paris and Caesars are equally ranked, though CP has a few more bar seats. Harrah's is very close to Caesars, but is much darker to give the appearance of it being small.

1) Harrah's is my top pick for Diamond Lounge - Best food offering, largest amount of bar seating since they have horseshoe shaped bar, and I love the company since most of the visitors to this lounge are in my age demographic so I make new friends. Staff are friendliest and Robert who tends bar has lots of Vegas stories having bartended for over 20 years. Always ask for your brand since they do keep some stuff in the back and not on display. Cons: No internet workstations

2) Caesars Palace is second only because its aesthetically the nicest and has the largest amount of internet workstations. Food offering pretty much is below par of the others. You can get much higher end liquor here and it's very convenient access if your staying in Augustus tower. Nice bar with plenty of seats, plenty of TV's to watch sports. Staff is always very friendly.

3) Paris - Large lounge, food offerings are better then Caesars, experienced staff, Michael one of the servers is great along with Ernie the bartender who makes a kick ass expresso martini.
Two internet workstations available. Limited Bar seating. Place fills up with the blue hairs during the week at hot food time, not unusual to have to wait for access when they open till 5pm.
A little too small for the amount of customers they have to service.

4) Planet Hollywood - lots of seating but up in no mans land on upper terrace above casino. Nice layout lots of televisions. Staff seem to be pretty attentive. Food offering was limited and there is no bar so they are relying on the casino bars for drink service. You can sometimes wait awhile for your drink if they are understaffed. Higher end liquor seems to be available for asking, no problem getting Grey Goose, or higher end bourbon. No internet workstations..

5) Rio - Great view from tower, this one is located high in the sky. Access via high limit slots area. Smaller lounge in comparison to the others. Again no bar and limited food offering. Can fill up on weekends. Personally don't like the vibe and only have visited if I am staying at Rio.

6) Flamingo - Seating is nice in some of the booths and food offering is a little better especially on weekends. No bar, small lounge, limited number of tv's, and the servers get drinks from the casino bars so service can be slow sometimes. Least favorite of the diamond lounges.

Harrah's has 2 internet work stations, located in the left rear of the room, beyond the rest rooms.

We were in the Flamingo DL recently, and the air conditioning was so cold we had to leave.

I agree that Harrah's is the best, but I kind of wanted to keep that a secret....

There were two internet work stations in a cut out area by the buffet, at Planet Hollywood, while we were there in June. The food service is usually chicken wings or the likes and agree on the drink service high ends are available and it is usually very good service. It is just a pain in the butt to find the first time. Not quite as nice as CP or Paris but a nice quiet getaway......Rick

On our visit last week we attempted to visit all of the diamond lounges during the week we were there. Caesars and Planet Hollywood were are favorites. My wife is cutting alcohol from her diet and both places made her a wonderful virgin drink that she enjoyed so much she said she didn't miss the alcohol. Harrahs was also enjoyable but who makes meatloaf out of chicken. We did not make it to the Paris lounge and the only thing my wife likes about the Flamingo is the Margaritaville casino.

Last trip we checked out:
Paris, Harrahs, & Planet Hollywood diamond lounges.

We liked all 3. Loved Plante Hollywoods specialty drink tried a couple out (sometimes I get tired of the same drinks)

Paris I think overall was my favorite of the 3. A lot more wait staff and less wait for drinks. Both Harrahs and Planet Hollywood only had one person taking drink orders and the wait was a long time.

Hot Food at Harrahs was best but I didn't really eat much my husband made a meal out of the sweet/sour chicken lol. As weird as it sounds the celery and carrot sticks at Paris hit the spot for me as an afternoon snack... I always get craving raw veggies while in Vegas

We go back to Vegas in 2 weeks so will check out a few of the other ones!!!

That is so true about Flamingo being cold. The first thing we ordered to drink was coffee (in August). It was very uncomfortable.

Also, while not a "diamond lounge", the free drinks at "Bound" in the Cromwell during their diamond happy hour make up for not having a physical lounge, and then some. I've also been able to get 2 companions drinks there and at the lobby bar at the Linq, where you can only get one companion into the actual lounges (we tip pretty well to ensure that isn't a problem).

As my wife and I were walking towards the PH diamond lounge last month, 2 ladies that we have never seen before asked if we were both diamond and asked if we could get them in. My first instinct was to tell them no (even though we are both diamond) as I felt they were trying to game the system to eat/drink free. About 10 minutes later, 2 other strangers let them in as their guest. I didn't say a word and minded my own business when I saw them. What would you do if asked?
