I am convinced that all my coworkers think I am some huge degen now!

They all know I have the Vegas bug...and they all know that I play Fantasy and fanduel and will make or take a bet on just about anything. One of them booked a cruise and we were talking about that - so one of the warehouse guys was walking by and said "I know you aren't wasting time with anything but Vegas - so when's your next trip?"

Is it wrong that I always keep a few fives in my pocket so every time I walk by a War table I can play a quick hand?

Last time I was there I lost my passport to a hooker thanks to a mate. Drove to LA to the British Embassy and back on the last day of my trip, had nothing to eat so went straight to Hyde, where I celebrated having a new passport. Woke up at 11am to the maid knocking on my door, flight back to the UK was at 12.45 and check-in closed at 11.45.

Have been meaning to write a trip report actually about it, maybe I'll wait and see how this next trip goes in 2 weeks time before I write it up!

When we first started going to Vegas...12 years ago, I would not let my husband give me any money, and took $300 for five days. At the end of the trip I was almost dead even, and spent the money on clothes. Now my bankroll is more than that per day, but I always use the envelope system..well all but this one time...

I had had a few good days, and the last night, I had over $1000 and was going to buy a $400 shirt and some $300 earrings. Instead, I sat down to play VP and drink Bloody Mary's. At the end of the night, I had $16 and some change. No shirt, no jewelry. Our flight was not until late that evening. I sulked all day, walked the strip, played a little nickel vp. I would not let my husband give me any money. What the hell was I thinking?

Some stories on here make me nervous. Many make me laugh. The 2p2 are sad.

I guess it's all relative. Can't wait to get back in a little under six weeks.

    BeeeJay DEGEN guidelines.....

So......just for fun.....I've decided to grade this most recent trip against my DEGEN guidelines from Packers DEGEN Thread......kind of a "Self-Review" like those stupid-ass ones some people are forced to do at work! Let's see how I did....I'll post my results in Bold

The 4 cornerstones of degeneracy are gambling, alcohol, sex, and food-based gluttony. There are also some overriding beliefs that apply to all areas of proper degen endeavor.

    Let me expand.

General Overriding Beliefs of the Degen:

First, the degen must be VERY selfish. This doesn't mean the degen can't be giving, thoughtful, and sharing. But they must always be thinking about their needs to drink, eat, bet, and engage in sex. I think I really nailed this, I missed some of Mackers activities to follow my own gambling whims
Second, the TRUE degen must accept themselves for what they are revel in it. They aren't BAD because they are a degen. Is a tiger bad because it eats its prey??? NO!!! It's just being a tiger. There is no good or evil, these are imaginary constructs of society, and do not apply to the degen.I give myself a D in this catagory, I did wake up with a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach...hopeully it was just indigestion, but it might have been a tinge of *GASP* guilt....or more likely embarrassment--which I can live with---ok I give myself a C+ it was probably embarrassment

    Gambling

The degen must tear up their daily envelopes. The degen must chase. The degen must win enough to continue. The degen should make plans to gamble more intelligently, then ignore them. The degen should have a VERY short memory regarding losses. The degen must learn to use the only acceptable bankroll management tool--tricking yourself into booking wins by telling yourself that it enables a quicker return trip at a larger bankroll---THIS IS KEY to long-term degen survivial.A+ here, I totally went over planned budget on certain days, completely ignored my plans and limits, and tricked myself into depositing cash for next trip, preserving a nice win

    ALCOHOL

The degen doesn't have to be an alcoholic, but they should drink in excess and wake up often with little memory except for a general fuzzy feeling of regret. Ideally the degen will use credit card receipts and google maps to piece together the prior nights activities. nailed it big time.....in fact, the final day as we walked in front of Bellagio and Hielo and Borat and I verbally tried to peace together certain events, a nearby jogger mentioned we must do vegas right as he overheard us trying to piece together events

The degen MUST enjoy day drinking, and by that I mean they should be wanting to mix up a cocktail for shower. The degen should have a world-class ability to avoid hangovers. The degen should be at work early the next day after being black-out drunk the night before. OH and also---the degen should develop a habit of ordering two drinks per round, definitely for the first couple rounds at a minimum. I'm gonna have to give myself a B here because by day 3, Sunday I had not avoided a hangover....but the rest of the time there was heavy day drinking and even that day i did rebound by having a ciroc-gatorade and a nap so i was back drinking by 5pm and i was up early every day for the pool so yeah a B

    SEX

The degen must have a reality kings subscription and absolutely MUST do 2 chicks at the same time, when the opportunity presents itself. This is non-negotiable. The degen should always be cognizant of servicing "ladies in need". Again this goes with not believing in good vs. evil. A nun may need help across the street, but her need is no less important than the lonely GMILF who just wanted to be held, but got the "bonus plan". I'm gonna give myself a B here cause ya gotta do 2 chicks at the same time to get an A......and of course none of us actually banged any chicks on this trip, but we get a B just for "being" sexy :rolleyes2:

    FOOD-BASED GLUTTONY

The degen should always order far more food than any human could possibly eat. At least 2 entrees.

Cross-reference with blackout drunk---the degen must occasionally find a credit card receipt for $100 spent at a very inexpensive diner, which can only be explained by extreme gluttony and overtipping. The degen should often receive credit card alert for potential over-tipping.

I mean this is def an A++, we just fucking killed it for food this trip....started off at Holsteins, had daily gluttonous lunches of sandwiches and onion rings at the pool, day 2 dinner was Bachanal Bufffet, need I say more, Day 3 was SW---thanks again PPHOLD and Packer, and Day 4 was Botero.....we just ate the shit out of that town and for good measure we pounded copious amounts of bar snacks at Mandarin after each meal

The degen should leave dinner at "e" craving a Big Mac. Enough said.see mandarin bar snacks after huge steak dinners

    SUMMARY

I have yet to meet anyone with these admirable/regrettable qualities. But we can all strive to do our best!!! [emoji481][/QUOTE]Well this trip I met about a dozen VMBer's who all accomplished this to the nth degree.....overall grade has got to be an A-, and only the minus because Borat Hielo and I didn't have a showerful of hookers and maintained our dignity by not re-groping the pool chicks who groped us

Is a woman a degenerate if she is constantly finding room keys/player cards from the wynn whenever she uses a purse that she hasn't used in a few months?

Ok...I've reached a new level of degen-dom...went to a local today (Pala)...upon leaving I see a table set up where you can get a Pala Beach Towel. However, you must earn 70 points for the day before you can get one. I check my points...3 points shy...yes! I go play a penny slot...come back to check my points...still need 2 points! WTF! Go back to another penny slot. Come back and yes, made the remaining 2 points needed to get the ugly towel that I will never use! I did make $152 in this race for 3 points...lol.

I've been in a mode of holding off my degen. First time in weeks I've taken 2 weeks off. I'm holding off for July trip to Vegas. Didn't go to Foxwoods last weekend for Lynyrd Skynyrd and $400 freeplay and didn't go tonight for $300 freeplay and $100 Tanger Outlet gift card. I'm only an hour away, but saving bankroll for Vegas!

I guess my definition is different. I don't consider it to be degen just because you go often. Or maybe I am just rationalizing since I go to vegas pretty often also. For me, degen is when you gamble more than you should. I have had those trips, including one earlier this year. But fortunately those trips are few and far between
