Coming down for Labor Day weekend. I have never stayed off the strip before, but the price was right at this Days Inn. I spend most my time in the Excalibur Sportsbook, so this should be a pretty easy walk to get there right? Any insight about this place would be helpful.

Well, it's a Days Inn. It is basic. Was there twice already. Rooms are OK, clean, casino is a dump.

You can walk to Excal from there. But I always drove there (to play poker). It is not as close as it looks. :nono:

I would only stay there on expensive weekends (was there this year for Superbowl Weekend and switched on sunday)

I don't like much walking that route at all and especially during night hours. On that narrow bit of walkway that bridges the busy sidewalk there is no escape were someone wanting to shake you down.

99.9% of Days Inns in the States are hooker hotels.

I echo what others have said. The distance is not too bad when walking, but i especially wouldn't want to walk it at night with money in your pockets going to a Casino. The area, compared to the Strip at a comparable distance, is like night and day. I used to drive that area on Tropicana (where WW is near) for lunch, many places that the locals would go to while on their lunch hour. I also used to drive my car from the Strip to Orleans to watch boxing matches, and late at night when the fight was over, i bugged it outta there to get back home (well, not home but MC, NYNY, etc).

I've seen more hookers at Paris or any other strip hotel than at Wild Wild West. But then I do not specifically watch.

Yeah, but Hookers at Paris are like a bottle of Vosne Romanee compared to the Night Train Express Hookers at WWW.

I stayed there once maybe 15 years ago, needed a Sat Nite on the strip and it was only thing affordable. Back then they had those plastic swiss cheese room keys and the door showed signs of being pried open several times. Truckers hookers and druggies in the casino at night local construction workers cashing checks during the day. I remember the food there was good--special 1/2 pound charbroiled burgers for 1.99 and ribs for 4.99. I walked to the strip and in the little tunnel that went under the interstate there were 2 guys huffing glue. As I walked past I said Hey and they offered me a hit I said no thanks they didn't bother me but I did take a cab back that night. The only time in my life I actually wedged a chair under the door knob in a hotel room. I would put up with a lot back then just to be in Vegas. I know they did a major renovation there several years ago but I have never gone back to check it out again.

That $1.99 burger special was a major calling card for the joint. I enjoyed it, but definitely echo what everyone else had said regarding casino.

I've stayed at a lot of cheap hotels/motels. Once for a job that gave me a stipend and required several months of continuous hotel stays across the western states. I got to keep what I didn't spend on hotels. I always chose the cheapest option.

Wild Wild West is easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The whole place was infested with something. I dragged a blanket out of my car and slept on top of it.My uncle who road tripped it with me on that trip will second my opinion. This stay was maybe 4 years ago so hopefully things have changed. Garden room at the Trop (pre renovation) and Twin Falls Motel 6 are a distant #2 and 3.

I stayed there a couple yrs ago, it wasn't that bad. Bed was really comfortable. It is a Motel, so the doors open to the outside, and you have ppl walk right by your window
