Woke up at around 8:45, put together all my stuff and headed out to the Bellagio to see if I could get an early check in. No rooms were ready yet, so I just checked my bags and walked over to the Paris and had a nice buffet breakfast there. I HIGHLY advise you to check this out, the crepes made to order are tremendous... Decided to play a little craps there, the tables were pretty cold. I rolled pretty well, but it was just enought to get back what others had lost me, lol... I love making people who bet the darkside mad when I roll a seven coming out, I get the biggest grin on my face! I was there about an hour, ended up down around $75 bucks, so that was pretty cool. There was a great older dealer here, he knew ALL the one liners associated w/craps. I should have stayed there just to listen! Back to the Bellagio, where I arrived to the VIP counter and thought about doing the $20 trick again just to make myself feel better. When I told them my name, she said she needed to make a phone call. She came back and informed me that I had been upgraded to a suite based on last night's play. I had no problems with that, and in the end I gave her the $20 just for how nice she was. Beautiful room, THREE bathrooms, seperate bedroom and living room. I thought I was in heaven. I called Jesse and John and gave them my room # and told them to bring their sorry behinds up to my room. I was in heaven... lol After the shock on their faces, Jesse and John said, "There is work to be done, young man" and we left to conquer the town. After dropping almost $200 in 20 minutes at the same craps table that treated us so well, we decided to hit the Hard Rock. When we got there, it was busy but not crowded. Jesse and John decided to play some VP, and I had to hit the craps table. Spot open at a $10 table, good enough for me! I put down my money and preceeded to lose another $200 in about 20 minutes. I could see a trend here and thought maybe I should back off gambling for awhile and actually have some chance of taking home my winnings. J + J were busy playing VP and John hit 4 Aces and stopped. Jesse had gone into the pattern of putting in a $20 and then losing it, then repeat... lol After a lot of convincing, we DRAGGED Jesse away from his loser machine and started to leave, we heard a loud scream... You guessed it, a royal on the machine Jesse was playing. I don't think I will ever live this one down... We headed to the 'Bay and played awhile there. Ate at the HOB, this is great stuff as well. We payed for Jesse's lunch since according to him, lost him $4000... lol After that, back to the Bellagio for some more playing. I played some three card for awhile, broke even. The craps table kept calling me, and when we got back there "Chuck" was there. He had just gotten there and requested the table for himself. We walked by and I asked him if I could play with him. The minimum was $100, and that was kinda scary. He signed his marker and they pushed $50,000 in chips to him. WOW I stood next to him and we got to talking in between each roll and he was a pretty cool guy. Inherited a steel factory back east from his favorite uncle. He was betting $1000 on the pass line to my $100. Both of us weren't doing well, but just enough to make a little something each time. An hour had gone by and J+J were nowhere in sight. Did I worry? No way... lol Rolling, Rolling, Rolling... and some more rolling... Chuck was down almost 10 grand and I was up about 500 (he was pumping the hardways, which he says he never does.) Chuck leaned to me and said, "Jer, make me some money..." He put down $5000 on the passline and winked at me and told me no pressure (YEAH RIGHT????) I rolled a 4 and he backed his bet with another $15,000 and $1000 on the hard four. I proceeded to roll everything except a 4. I was making good money and he just sat there patting me on the back saying I could do it. I rolled for almost 10 minutes and couldn't hit a 4, I rolled 10 6 times, 5 a bunch of times. He looked at the passline and said there was something missing. He put $1000 on the pass and backed it up with $3000 for the dealers. He looked at me and said, "Now there is pressure on you..." The next roll was a four! 3 and a 1, dealers were happy because they got $11,000 for a tip! After that, I was up big. I colored up and hit the cage. I wired the money to my account and left some to play with. Was told at the cage that Shintaro was a pretty good place for Japanese, so when I cought up with the fellas we talked to the hostess and after a $20, she thought she remembered my reservation... After that, I was tired for some reason and just wanted to go up and relax in my beautiful room. I saw they had a DVD player, so I watched Hardball. Damn that movie was sad... lol I woke up the next morning, saw the casino host and he gave me his card, and told me that everything I had charged to my room plus my flight was comped. I asked what they had me down for and he said $600 for 8 hours. Wow... He then asked me how I was getting back to the airport, and before I could respond he said he would have the limo waiting for me! This was great. I won, I got treated like a king, and when I want to come back I make a phone call and it is FREE! God Bless Vegas, Craps, and lucky dice...
Damn! I love stories like this!!! Great trip!! Some day I have GOT to learn to play craps--all the best stories come from you craps players!!!
Hoya, You wanna hear the one where I drove out to Vegas and lost all my money in an hour and a half?? lol Craps is a streaky game... I have been REAL lucky the last couple of times!
Great trip report ! Restored my faith in the game a little. Saw a guy lose appox. 30,000$ a few weeks ago in about 45 minutes, which I found pretty scary, nice to hear the other side.
You're so right about craps. It's a great game but it can wipe you out quick if it's going bad. Sounds like an awesome trip though.
Jer, Fantastic trip report!!! Wish I could have been there to watch. Congrats!!! I've played very little craps myself but when I played at Mohegan Sun last Nov/Dec, I was playing blackjack and there was a guy playing craps not far from my table. Damn, he must have be winning big. Talk about a lot of yelling/screaming/dancing. I always feel good when I see other players win some nice $$$. I'm thinking about trying a little blackjack at the Bellagio next week but I need to check out their rules first. Have you planned your next trip yet?
Cruiser, Not yet, but my wife is ragging in me that I got a suite and she wasn't there... With the friends fly free promotion, it will cost $110 to get us both there next time. Hopefully, I can get another suite... I love a "live" craps table... Nothing else like it, its hard to describe the rush of a hot roll! Now, when it is bad, its BAD! I was talking to a guy at the Trop and he said the table was soooo cold the other night and he lost over $1000 in an hour at the $5 table.
