    My Trip Report

Got up early and headed to the MSP airport. America West now has e-ticket check-in, kinda confusing and took about 1/2 hour. Maybe once they get the system down a little better it will be nice but we reserved our tickets online at america west and they had us in 4 seats - none of them next to each other and the flight wasn't even full. After finally getting us into pairs of 2 we flew through security, ate McD's and were off to Vegas. We landed on time (10:30) grabed our bags and headed out to the Dollar shuttle. Got in a Stratus and head to Barleys as the first stop. We all had a $10 blackjack matchplay so we decided to use that. We ended up all losing since the dealer got a 20. After that the four of us headed to Green Valley for their buffet and to sign up for their players club and get the 7 magnificant offers sheet. The buffet was good but their weekend bloody mary brunch is much better. 3 of us got $5 from their slot play and I lucked out and got $15 slot play - ended up cashing out with $10. We then headed to the blackjack table for our $5 matchplay and we all won when the dealer busted. We had coupons to see Ronn Lucas at the Rio so we hopped on the freeway and made our way over to the Rio. The line was extremely long, went to the box office redeemed our tickets - price came to $16 or so per couple (need to purchase one drink). After about 1/2 hour we were inside and up at the bar ordering a drink. The show lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours - very entertaining and funny but probably would be better if he would cut it down to 1 hour as we all felt it started to drag on towards the end. After the show it was 4:30 so we went to check in at Fitzgeralds. My wife and I checked in Okay but Mr. and Mrs. J had troubles. The desk clerk said that their room was cancelled. Mr. J said how could that be, we signed up on-line with the couple that just checked in and had no trouble with checking into the flight since it was a package deal. The desk clerk said that they had received a fax today stating to cancel the room. We asked to see the fax, after about 10 minutes they came back without a fax and said that they will go ahead and get them a room. We finally check in and then head back down the strip. We drove down to MGM and headed over to San Remo since we were interested in seeing Showgirls of Magic which we had 2 for 1 tickets to. My wife won over $150 on a nickle machine while I lot $60 at the blackjack table and MR. J came out $20 ahead at the same table. MRS. J played draw poker to a draw coming out even. I then tried my luck at some nickle machines near the entrance of the show and ended up winning $40 back. The showroom/stage/chairs/etc were very small. They must have oversold the show because I did see some people in the back standing. For being called the Showgirls of Magic, they didn't do much magic except for making their tops disappear. The fat lady (acutally a man) was a riot and they did have a lot of audience participation so don't sit towards the front if you don't want to be involved. After that we decided to grab a bite to eat. We headed over to the Palms and ate at Guardnos. Very good food and Margaritas, bill came to $80 for the 4 of us but we had a 50% off coupon from Las Vegas Advisor so it was $50 after the tip. We played some slots since we had $10 free slot play - I cashed out $5 of it and then we headed back downtown. We walked around downtown for a while and headed to bed at around 1:00. On the day I ended up being down $5 gamling while my wife was ahead $175 and I spent $90 on the two of us for 2 shows and 2 meals. Tomorrow we check into Bellagio and see "O"
