I played bingo there years ago, the first one for me.

Last time at the Rio there were very few machines there I wanted to play. Fortunately, GC had tons of my faves, and a nice lit walkway and stoplights, almost intentionally inviting Rio folks over to the GC.

 

Good morning!!
As you can see by my pictures from yesterday, my husband made it here safe, so yay!
I didn't manage to get any sleep when I put myself down for a nap Thursday night but just laying there and resting was kind of nice.
He got in around 1:30 or so and I boogied down to the parking garage to help him bring in the luggage. After that we didn't do a whole lot. He took some time to unwind from the nine hour drive and then we ate the Smashburgers that I had gotten us earlier in the evening and hit the sack around four in the morning.

Our original plan for Friday morning was to go to the first Gold Coast bingo session that started at eleven but since we were running on about five hours sleep and I didn't want to feel rushed so we decided to play the bingo thing by ear. They run their sessions every two hours from 11 in the morning until 11 at night so we knew we had more chances.
I hit the gym for an hour and by the time I got back up and showered and ate a little something we decided to head over to the general direction of the Gold Coast and see where the day took us. If we were still there or nearby at one we would hit that bingo session.

We walked over to the Exhale dispensary to look around because these places always fascinate me and then decided to hit up the Sonic next door. We have a Sonic that finally came to the Monterey area where we live but it's all the way across town and we've never eaten there. I used to have one that was a block away from where I worked when I lived in Arizona and believe me when I tell you that I ate there WAY TOO MUCH. It was no coincidence that I weighed over 300 pounds when I worked there.

Anyhoozit, we only every eat Sonic while on vacation now so it's always a treat. We split a corndog, tots and Rob got a Oreo Reese's shake that I had a few sips on. See the picture above for reference and don't @ me on the ketchup on the corndog, I'm allergic to mustard.

After we ate we strolled over to Gold Coast, we had pretty much given up the idea of bingo but we found ourselves there about 15 minutes before the one o'clock session so we headed up the escalator and signed up.



As was the case with my last session, I got a big fat zero on the bingo front, however Rob had a scorching case of beginners luck. He won the second round for a whopping ten dollars and we joked that it paid for a quarter of his buy in. Low and behold, a couple of rounds later he was only winner on the first blackout game and won two hundred smackers. Rob now likes Bingo very much.
After we were done, Rob headed back to the Rio while I hit up the Walgreens. The dry desert air is seriously messing with my nose and my skin so I had to pick up some saline solution and intensive moisturizer.



With those items in hand and it already getting dark out, I headed back to the hotel.
We chilled up in the room for a couple of hours and then ventured downstairs where we gambled a bit. The goldfish were not kind to me but Heidi and Hannah were nicer.


Once we were gambled out (is that a thing?) we walked over to Pho Da Nang Vietnamese Kitchen and got some Beef Pho, a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and Shrimp Tempura. Sorry no pictures as we inhaled the food as soon as we got up to the room.

This morning I am currently drinking coffee (not overpriced as Rob brought the trusty Keurig knockoff machine) and getting ready for the gym.
Plans for today involve KISS mini golf with @luck.ofthe.draw and then some low key gambling. It's Saturday and the masses have invaded the casino so I doubt we will be hanging around too much downstairs. Covid aside, the pandemic shut down taught me most of all that I generally don't care for other humans in general so I try to avoid them at all costs.

Off to workout, I'll post more as it happens.

 

Love that you have such a long trip in Vegas right now! I'm glad you're enjoying your unemployed time. Smart to get a trip in knowing it will take time to build up PTO at your next job.

I haven't played bingo in ages too, and I've never played using the electronic cards. Congrats to Rob on his win!

Met @luck.ofthe.draw downstairs around 12:30 for KISS mini golf. It was a good time even though we weren't given a score card. Probably just as well as I would have been in last place easily. Rob and Luck both got a hole in one each, meanwhile it took me like 654656845 tries to sink any putt.



After that we planned to go to Hash House A Go Go for a late lunch but they apparently closed at one and we were a half an hour too late. I was looking forward to it as they haven't been open all week and I was excited to see that they had been open on the way back to the room this morning. Oh well, guess we will have to go grab some from the Linq when we get onto the strip portion of this trip.

Instead we opted for the All American Bar & Grille mostly because it was open and it didn't look like it would suck. We were correct in that assumption.
We split a nacho appetizer and also got a california club sandwich to split. We needn't have bothered with the sandwich as the nachos were a huge plate and filled all three of us up. I think they should perhaps move that item to the regular entree part of the menu. We ended up bringing the sandwich up to the room which we will eat for dinner tonight.

No pics of the nachos until after we obliterated it. Mini golf must work up a heck of an appetite!



With full belly's we said so long to Luck and headed back up to the room for a nap.

I probably could have slept the entire night through but we have some packing to do as we switch hotels in the morning. That is our current status. I'm still super sleepy and there is a whole lot of humanity in the casino as it is Saturday night, so I doubt we will venture downstairs unless it is to throw a couple of completed suitcases into the car.

Tomorrow after check out and before check in we will be meeting some local friends for some go cart racing so I'm looking forward to that.

Either Monday or Tuesday will probably be a downtown day where we grab a couple of bus passes and travel down the strip and back.

Wow, that nacho plate looks like it came from a buffet station that everyone would take! That golf looks fun, and maybe its cheaper than the gambo!! Best of luck to both of you.

 

I'm so fucking jealous of the KISS mini golf!!! It's on my bucket list but the majority of my trips I'm solo or with someone who doesn't care for mini golf, even if it involves the GOD OF THUNDER!!

Anyone know if those "Girls Direct To You" services would send a girl over to play KISS mini golf?

 

We did this a few years back and it was a trip! They have a similar one in Bally's, but Twilight Zone theme which I've played more recently. I'm really glad that these have survived the pandemic.

I really enjoy things like this much more than "real" golf.

From what they tell me (the ubiquitous "they"), the charge is to get her to where you are. You will then need to negotiate for whatever she is willing to do. Would that be part of a "girlfriend experience" charge?
