Since this is such a phenomena, I think this belongs here instead of the Sports Book section. The mods may not agree.

CONGRATUALATIONS!!! This is something none of us have ever withnessed.

Even though I was rooting for the Indians, I have friends in Cleveland, it was a Game 7 for the ages.

I was rooting for the Cubs, was so glad to see them pull out the W. And hoooo boy what a game that was! Stayed up for the whole thing and I'm dragging ass at work this morning. It was worth it though.

Great game 7, falls into the #2 position behind the 1991 World Series

Last out 12:38 am EDT. Luckily rain delay was 17-18 mins. Peaks and valleys for both teams. Definitely one for the ages.

Great Series. Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in about 15 weeks.
    Good luck.:beer::beer:

That game was amazing!!! Was cheering for the Indians since they knocked our Blue Jays out so I could at least say they were beat by the best but still, that was a pretty exciting finish!

I'm still shedding tears of joy for our Cubs! Some of us have been waiting a long time for this. I am just glad I am still alive and coherent enough to witness it and remember it. BTW, hell has officially frozen over and I think I saw some pigs flying. :headbang:

I know I'll never see a game seven like that again. Not a Chi-town fan at all but was rooting for them to finally break the curse or whatever...
Just wish there was still day-games in the WS..Memories of grammer school when the kids could watch /listen to the game and was a nice distraction from the mundane schoolwork.
Nuns I had as teachers enjoyed it..
Ask MLB how many future little leagers did not see this and what is their reply..TV income vs promoting the sport..Just my opinion.Stuck in childhood memories I guess (When I used to follow MLB).This was the first WS I paid attention to /watched in years..

Definitely a fun game to watch! :D
Back to the Future II was just a little bit off on the timing!

Congrats to the millions of Cubs faithful.
I remember the joy when my beloved Twins won in '87 and '91.
    Party on!

I saw a pic of his tombstone that was pretty cool. Lots of Cubs banners, a bag of Cracker Jacks and a lot of green apples....apparently he once made a comment comparing the Cubs winning the WS to green apples (I don't remember the exact quote). I thought he was a clown but know he was a Chicago icon and am happy for the Cubs fans.

As a lifelong Cubs fan all's I can say is what's a long strange trip it's been. Over my 50+ years of fandom there's been a few highs but vastly outnumbered by the lows. I've always thought said that even through in some years we lead the league in losses, we always lead the league in the most important category which is "fun", yes we always have fun win or lose after all it's just a game. In hindsight, I'm glad we blew it in 69 & 84 & those other years, what happened this year made it that much more enjoyable. The hunt is over, we can savor victory and it feels good.

And to the Indian fans all's I can say is stay awesome, your day will come soon.

    Cheers,
    John

I can now say definitively that we're number one- in being cursed. Damn you, Frantic Frank Lane. You outdid Bartman AND the billy goat.

They talk a lot about Harry Carey ,but through this all did anyone
ever mention Ernie Banks ? Never been a Cub fan but he always embodied what a pro athelete should be. . I know he's up there smiling.

This is what happens when you have a real front office

No good can come from losing in 69 or 84
