There's a Cuban place in the downtown area called Florida Cafe. Not really walking distance from Golden Nugget, but accessible via the Deuce or a cheap Lyft/Uber ride.
In terms of whether it's good, I've never eaten there. However, the web seems to indicate it gets better than average reviews. 1401 Las Vegas Blvd S

If you really want to know where the best Cuban food is in Vegas, I recommend inquiring at Chicas Bonitas. Plenty of Cubans there to give you some good recommendations :D

The Florida Café is good! I was responsible for a warehouse in that area for many years and was turned-on to the Florida Café by the staff. The hotel it's located at what used to be the Howard Johnson's on Las Vegas Blvd. just north of the Y where Main Street splits off... before you get to Charleston. I think the hotel is now called The Shalimar or something like that.
