The CSI Series Finale is set for Sept 27th on CBS in a 2 hour send off! Looks like Grissom, Catherine Willows, Lady Heather and the newest Cast Members will make an appearance.
I'm still sad that the show was cancelled. It's still better than any of the spin offs! I was a loyal series viewer! I tried to watch the new CSI Cyber but I dumped it after the 3rd episode. Just Terrible!

They really hung on way too long.

They should have done a proper last season and send off a couple of years ago.

They tried everything to revive it, bringing on Lawrence Fishburn for one epic fail season and then Ted Danson for a couple of mediocre seasons.

When all your main original cast has moved on, it's time to hang it up.

Ted Danson is going to CSI Cyber to take over for Peter MacNicol. I'm bummed as I love MacNicol, but his talents were wasted on the show, so, meh. I want to like it, and it's still in the dvr, but....

There's been some not so great episodes but I'm going to miss it!! I was just asking my husband when he thought it was going to come back on for the new season. Man. Bummer :(

Don't they air (and then presumably film) on different schedules? He might be able to do both.

I read various websites to help plan my tv schedule (yes, I have an excel spreadsheet and two dvrs because we can't do the whole house dvr and I want to be able to record too many things at the same time ;-)

tvline.com has a great Fall premier calendar (along with various reviews & previews of new stuff) and thefutoncritic.com - I hate to miss new shows (shows that are already in the dvr from the last season should still be ok but we have had flukes in the system so I like to be aware)

Yeah, I might have a tv problem. Except I multitask - I never *just* watch tv. I use the treadmill, cook, read, work etc while watching tv. I started young - I was a latchkey child and I used to do my homework while reruns of Gilligans Island were on.....

Thanks for posting. I'm glad CBS is doing the right thing for a show that was a ratings leader and one of my favorites for many years.

I love CSI. I'm sad to see it go, but it was time. Ooh Lady Heather?! Love her. I wonder if they're going to address the weird Grissom/Sara marriage? I'll try CSI: Cyber for another season. I made it through the first season. And it got better as it went along.

Fargo is done shooting season 2.

I don't know of another series that did their finale at the beginning of the season rather than at the end..

I'm glad. I think they begged CBS to be allowed to do this "finale" 2 hr movie - because they didn't know until they were too far along in the writing & filming cycle that they wouldn't be renewed (though, given ratings and rumors the past few years, I'm sure they had an inkling....) This way - hopefully, as a long time fan - they are able to get a lot of the old cast mates back and do a proper send-off.

They have done an extensive autopsy of the show and found that it died from jumping a shark several seasons ago.

Too many shows get cancelled without a proper ending. Although it's not the show it once was I'm glad they are going to be able to wrap it up.

+1. Great example of this was the abrupt ending of Las Vegas when Tom Selleck came back from the dead with no plausible explanation.

OHHHH NOOOO.... I set the DVR to capture the 2 hour finale and find out that 60 minutes ran over the time on the guide, thereby cutting off the last 30 minutes if CSI... I got to the part where they're examining the "syndavor".
Anyone have any thoughts on how I might see the balance of the program?

Grissom made a "jumping the shark" joke. Pretty funny. That was in the beginning.

I won't post any more spoilers out of respect for those who haven't seen it yet.

I was a CSI junkie so I enjoyed it. Got all of the characters except for Jules back in for one more hurrah. Oh yeah, no George Eads, either.

CBS.com usually has full episodes. You can't skip the ads, though.

You beat me to the "jump the shark" ref, Breeze. Thought that was funny too.
How about Katherine's daughter becoming a junior CSI, must suck joining the show for one season knowing it's the last one.

Yep... that's what I did... couldn't find it on ON Demand yet, but went to CBS skipped to the last couple segments, watched a billion commercials and then it played. I think Jules must have died, because DB packed that plaque at the end.

I think it went from good science to science-fiction. For me it got way too unreaslistic and unbelievable.

Jules died at the end of last season, with the serial killer twins, as far as I recall.....And I thought I heard a mention of her at the beginning of the episode, not just the plaque at the end?

    SPOILER

I liked having Grissom & Sarah together at the end. I am furious that she set out to sea with him instead of him coming back to Vegas to support her as the Lab Director, because damn she would do a great job and she earned it. I hope that's what happens after they sail around for a couple weeks! I don't think having Willows as lab director and supervising her daughter is a good idea.....And talk about conflict of interest - owning a casino and being in charge of CSI?
