Arizona Charlies Decatur has a separate fully enclosed large non smoking area. I do admit ACD is smoky, but the VP and mailers are very good.

I was at the Boars Head bar at MSS on Friday night with a couple of friends at 10pm. It was completely dead. We all got a seat and played a little vp.
We only stayed for one beer and didn`t talk to the bartenders regarding downturn in business due to vp reduction in points. We stayed at the Orleans
and there were always seats at the bar except the weekend front bar was busy when the band was playing. Orleans was packed by the way.
I do think there is some short term effect on savvy vp players.

I stayed at MSS Wednesday thru Sunday last week and never had trouble finding a seat at the bar day or night. Could usually even find 2 seats together. That’s not normally the case.
Busiest day IMO was Wednesday for YAH.
Saturday night the great majority of the people sitting at the bar were not playing VP. They were just drinking and watching the games on TV.

I'm not sure if the bartender's assessment working 5 shifts a week counts as a statically relevant sample but what do I know. lol. A little too early, in my dumb opinion to determine the impact.

Had staycation booked over Thanksgiving at Orleans as we are going to the basketball tournament there. Switched the nights to Paris and we will just go for the games. Boyds really hurt themselves especially when Stations is putting a lot of money into upgrades at Palace Station and the Palms. Wrong move at the wrong time.

Stayed at Sam's Town Tuesday night. Arrived around 4pm, left Wednesday around 9am. Did not notice a decline in how busy the casino was for a weekday night. The room updates are nice, they even spifft up the main set of elevators. There was a tiny coffeemaker in our room, not a Keurig, with two packs of coffee. Did notice the breakfast buffer price has jumped, $7.99 think it used to be $5.99. I'm not a fan of the buffet, but could manage breakfast because I knew what to eat there. Plan now is to stay with Boyd till they take away my free nights. I'm Sapphire with a fairly limited budget, $100-$200 per day. 50% VP, 50% penny slots. We shall see.

Have been at sam's town since monday, arriving noon, leaving thurs a.m.
    couple of observations:
    1) notice they now offer 11Xpoint multipliers monday, tuesday and thursday. is this a sign of people staying away?
    2) also a banner across main walkway noting 'new' YAH offers, including 'unlimited' 11Xpoint.
3)as a $1 VP player, I found it relatively easy to maintain sapphire level for 2019; I had 422 tier points after conversion; 803 this a.m. with another day to go.

many years ago when ST still offered gold cards, I would flirt with emerald status; now have no desire or inclination I will ever approach 15,000 tier credits.
will likely see what the mailers bring for 2019, and adjust our trips accordingly. we have stayed at ST six days this year, may return in december, but used to average at least 15 nights a year. mailers now 3 free nights, 30 food, 40 slot.

did cash in the wife's 950,000+BConnected points (she is ruby under new conversion)...even with couple of meal deductions, with 11X points my points balance has gone from 877,000 to 965,000 in 48 hours. I would say the big thing is to remember to either cash out or show up every six months so as to not lose any points you might have.

as far as crowds, I have noticed no dropoff, maybe even a little more than usual for a monday (MNF sports book crowded, so was Billy Joe's Bar next to sports book).

VP inventory has even slightly increased; there was a new (to us) bank of 98% return uprights across from the main cashier's cage.

I have read every post regarding the boyd changeover and feel for those who feel screwed by boyd; I just believe everyone has to do what they think is best regarding their own situation, and adjust accordingly.

    corrections to my previous post:
11Xpoint multipliers on monday, tuesday and thurs. say for the month of october.
"98% return uprights actually say "up to 99.8% return"
finished 3-day stay with 1,083 tier points; walked in the door with 422. wife even managed to nudge into sapphire level...she plays any and all machines but never above 25-cent level.
