So after a wonderful lunch of sushi in downtown Omaha, we decided to go to the casinos in Council Bluffs. It has been about 8 months since I've been to any of them. With the College World Series still in town they were a bit busier than probably normal. Harrahs Council Bluffs - Played craps. The table was a $10 minimum probably due to the CWS, but I found this a bit odd as I've never seen a $10 minimum at Harrah's CB even during past events. There were probably 5-6 other players at random times. They were even enforcing $10 minimum on Fire Bets/ATS. You had to have $10 total between the two which I found odd as even on a $25 minimum table in Vegas I could bet $1. Table was decent, hit a few numbers, finished up $96. The drink service sucked, was there about an hour and she didn't come around once. -My wife played some slots, no idea what and finished up $80. Horseshoe Council Bluffs -Was going here with the intent to play some Crapless Craps. Yeah I know the game sucks, but I felt like mixing it up. The table was closed and not open. Not only was it closed, it looked like they hadn't been using it in some time. There were ZERO chips locked up on the table. The other two open tables were full, and I was unable to get in. So while we were there, I decided to go check out the sports book. I was disappointed to see that you can only bet on horse racing still despite the sports betting law that passed a few months ago. We ended up leaving after 20 minutes. Ameristar Council Bluffs -Flood waters are still in the lower level of the parking garage and the boat is definitely elevated high. They had one crap table open with a $5 minimum. It was a full table with nothing really too exciting. We did hit the "small" on the ATS once. I had $1 on it. In the end I finished down $100. The wife once again is the big winner as she won around $50 slots. We then had a turtle browning from Bella's before leaving and it was WONDERFUL! Anyways, not the most exciting review of things. Just a day out with a few things here and there.
