Table Games Could Table Games Be Replaced by Machines?

    Craps for six or under? BJ for three, and no touching the cards? Repulsive. Maybe fake games with no dice and no cards could seem less egregious if those were the alternatives. To me they are soulless. I won't play.

    Many of us remember a time not so long ago when comps were easier and games were fairer than they are now. Casinos then took the calculated risk that driving a few skilled players away and coddling the faithful a little less would be more than compensated by net increased hotel and dining revenue and increased losses among unsophisticated players. They were right. One wonders what calculation is going into current decisions about electronic games, and whether they may be driven this time by the profit motive or by the simple will to survive.
