I'm a huge Cosmo fan, has been my favorite Vegas hotel. I am going to be in Vegas for the Vegas 1/2 marathon in November....got a good deal on Wynn. I've always liked gambling, and eating at Wynn, but was not sure about the location.

What is your opinion? What does Wynn do better than Cosmo?

If a decent deal comes up for Cosmo....do I switch?

I hardly left the Wynn last time I stayed there, it was that good*

That said, if it's the location that's worrying you, go with Cosmo, and just do what you've done previously.

Wynn does most things better than Cosmo. And that's not a knock on Cosmo. Wynn is just very good. The Encore spa is one of the best on the strip and the dining options at Wynn are fantastic. Cosmo is slightly better for people watching, but Wynn is the prettier resort overall. Cosmo is a bit better on comped drinks while gambling and has better craps rules than Wynn. Both have good sportsbooks, but you're much more likely to find a seat at the Wynn book. The Wynn rooms are nicer, but the Cosmo does have balconies. Really, you can't go wrong either way.

Wynn will typically be more subdued, depending on time of year, day of week, etc. than Cosmo.
Wynn will have more families/strollers than Cosmo
Cosmo is closer walking distance to a larger, more diverse set of casinos than Wynn
    Both have great/good dining options
Both have nice rooms, but Cosmo gets extra points for the balconies
Both will have younger clientele attending dayclubs/nightclubs, but it varies by time of year and day of week.

Wynncore does have more of a "luxury" atmosphere but for me, the terraces at Cosmo give it the edge. Not sure if this matters to you, but Wynncore doesn't comp drinks when playing video poker at the bar. It's a small thing but one that has annoyed me a bit during my Wynncore stays.

In my opinion, the Wynn/Encore is superior to Cosmo. That said, I really think it depends on how old you are. My wife and I are both in our late 30's, and much prefer the laid back/adult atmosphere at the Wynn as opposed to the Cosmo. Now, when I was in my early 20's, I probably would have preferred the Cosmo, as it seems like a much younger crowd. Either way, both hotels are nice, Wynn is just more quiet and away from a lot of the mid-strip action.

I'm a huge Wynn/Encore fan but I'm going to stay at Cosmo one of these times in a Balcony room.

    both hotel have great rooms

    Cosmo has the better location
but it also gets a lot of random foot traffic
now that could be a good thing if you want more potential eye candy walking through the casino floor

Wynn/Encore does feel a little more upscale
while Cosmo feels younger and more hip

the BAD - craps with 2x odds in Wynn/Encore
    don't ever play craps there

To me, depends on if you want more formal, elegant luxury, or luxury with some Vegas debauchery thrown in. Cosmo is beautiful, but also more unbridled. Wynn to me is more proper, quieter and "better-behaved".

Personally, I like a bit of the Vegas-edge thrown in...but then I'm also a sucker for a craft cocktail with a bit of spice/bite (flora and fauna @cosmo, I'm talking to you). I love "just the right amount of wrong" :)

Depends on what you want vibe-wise...but both should be wonderful, just in different ways.

Have been to Wynncore many times and love it. The food options cost more. The rooms are nice, but there is air of sophiscation that the Wynn does exude., abd a rather laid back approach that lulls you into a trance like state!!

Cosmo location is great, balconies a place and unlike the older 30 year olds we find the Cosmo suitable to a relaxed pace even into our 40' and 50's. it is more spirited but far from being fanatic. We really liked the food options, room service and the CW's. th slots were god to us as well. The Cosmo has a fresh vibe.

On our visit last week we received an initial 3 night comp to try the Cosmo out. We got a one bedroom terrace suit, 57th floor, fountain view with balcony. We played slots for two days, in return we got an offer for 6 count them6 nights in the same type of room in late May. We also have a FB credit and FP credit. Our host was lovely, the staff were lovely. And I think for how much we gambled the subsequent comps were very generous.
