I thought I'd be Mlife forever. I always stayed at Aria and I loved it.

A couple years ago Cosmo was matching offers on here, so I reluctantly split a four day trip between Aria and Cosmo.

I've now stayed at Cosmo three times and their offers are far greater than what Aria gives me for the same play.

Cosmo gives me better rooms with better views and literally ten times what Aria offers me in free play and resort credit.

If you've been thinking about trying a new property, check out The Cosmopolitan.

I am trying the switch in a few days... used the matching offer listed on here too.

Curious what kind of play you give them, which games, ballpark numbers if you're willing to share.

I made the same switch from CET a few years ago. I 100% agree. It is by far the best on the strip for value and IMO is far nicer than most if not all CET and ML properties.

JMHO, but the ONLY thing that I don't like about Cosmopolitan is that it's a SINGLE property. I travel to Las Vegas and all around the country and enjoy the variety that I have with both CET and mLife.

How much play did you give Cosmo before they started offering comps?

I just posted this somewhere else but on our last trip with CET I dropped about 2K in 4 hours at the Cosmo in one sitting at bar top 1.25/hand VP (wife was playing to on same card and with that money)

Not sure what the exact coin in was but I think I made sterling (I think). First offer was 4 nights nothing else.

My guess is giving them one day or your play would get you a room. If it doesn’t, you’re not likely to get one at anyway bc you wouldn’t hit that if you stayed with them for a trip. Maybe discounted rates.

We went from CET to Mlife, Wynncore, Cosmo and now Palazzo. What is interesting is how Wynn continues to give us generous 3 nights offers with FP and RC’s and it has been at least four years since our last visit.

We continue to maintain Gold status at Mlife properties and augment our stays with custom MyVEGAS rewards. Over the last few years we do 3 night stays at Mlife properties and Cosmo.

Recently the Palazzo was matching offers so we took advantage of a Cosmo offer to stay in a Fortuna suite. We are really curious about how the Gracie reward program works at V/P.

We were also lucky to catch the Cdn dollar a week or so ago when it was trading ok. Looking fwd to our trip !

Mlife has been great to us, and we still really like MLIFE properties. I actually didn't think anyplace could trump mlife for us, because we consistently get generous gaming offers and great rooms.

But...Cosmo has absolutely trumped MLIFE for us, hands-down. (We've just finished our fifth trip with Cosmo; Cosmo's passion for player retention, at least in our experience, has been just as strong as their initial offer!)

Cosmo has been VERY generous with our gaming offers (slots), on both Freeplay and rooms, but they also have a kick-butt players' program (for slots).

Being a mid-rolling dork, I was so, so happy when I first hit Platinum with Mlife years ago. While we get good gaming/room offers at Mlife, Mlife's Platinum tier perks have been anticlimactic---especially when compared with Cosmo's Identity program.

My Platinum status with Mlife gets me taxi cuts and a free pair of tickets to one of their attractions. (Plus an occasional third-party cruise offer, which holds no interest for me)

Conversely, Gold status with Cosmo's Identity program? On top of very generous gaming-based offers in gorgeous rooms, Cosmo's Idenity Gold tier also gives me:
    1. two annual bonus nights for me (which I can tack onto offers, to make a 5 or 6 night comped trips!)
    2. TWO bonus nights for a guest, in addition to my bonus nights
    3. Waived resort fees
    4. complimentary early check-in/late check-out (on availability)
    5. daily BOGO Wicked Spoon
(And this is for GOLD Cosmo, not Platinum. Hit Platinum at Cosmo? Car airport service and additional goodies.)

And again, the Cosmo Gold perks are on top of getting very generous gaming offers.

We still really enjoy Mlife, but Cosmo has absolutely become our top property, due to how well they consistently treat us.

Bottom-line: If I ever have to choose between protecting my Gold tier at Cosmo, or my Platinum tier with Mlife? It's no question...Mlife will take a back seat to Cosmo.

And @Grid, you made me grin, on the "gig is up" if we keep blabbing. My cautious side cringes on my blabbing about how good Cosmo treats its players. I know that the more players Cosmo gets, the more my chances are of being bumped out.

But, Kevin Sweet (at Cosmo) was SO generous on extending his first offer to us, and Cosmo has been so generous on follow-up offers, I had to give them props for an incredible property, and a great players' program.

I know eventually we'll probably fall off Cosmo's radar, as they find bigger and better players.

But, as long as they'll have us?

We'll relish every moment they give us...and I hope others can too! :woohoo:

I didn't have to pay for a room and had FP/RC to my heart's content on shorter stays for 3-4 years on Mlife's dime in the salad comp days ('13-'16) so I don't have too many bad things to say about them, but I do agree Identity is a better program on paper. HOWEVER, I agree with others that you have a lot more choice and a lot more frequent offers with Mlife. If money was no concern I'd probably stay at the Cosmo 9/10 trips but since it is a concern I'm still more than happy to take MGM up on low roller comps.

I also left mlife for Cosmo, and haven't looked back. I love everything about the Cosmo from the identity program, to the rooms, the atmosphere, and customer service. I do wish the casino was a bit larger, but other than that I have zero complaints.

It hadn't really occurred to me until I was reading about Cosmo's ownership history yesterday, but in addition to just plain aggressively marketing to get share of players, Cosmo has a relatively small footprint, so less retail space to generate rent. They need to keep the casino full.

I’ve been tempted to try cosmo but I’m scared. Vegas is my Fantasy camp and it is important to me to get a really nice room and view with a big old tub. I’m afraid as a new person I would be stuck low floor back view. Do they sell upgrades? The majority of my trips I spring for the upgrade and usually get them. I didn’t last trip but since it was the first time I had to pay resort fees so that on top of a suite would be too much. I don’t think my play will warrant anything nice. I made platinum once a few years ago but my gambling budget isn’t what it used to be so need 2 trips to make gold. I had planned to walk over just to look but I never got a chance. Between MyVegas and my offers I never pay for food and get a little free play.

I also like the multi property opportunities. I don’t casino hop a bunch but it still is nice to take the tram and still get pts. I do like getting free show tickets.

I just booked an Aria offer for 4 nights and $100 RC. This will be my first time there, over the last 10 yrs I’ve stuck to Bellagio and Mirage in Vegas and a few trips to the Beau. When I booked Aria it showed $170+ in resort fees. I figured fp, RC and free myVEGAS stuff makes up for fees. Any idea what would be comparable at Cosmo?

Maybe book a Terrace Studio Fountain View straight up for one night on your next trip and see how you like it. If you get offers from MLife, you'll probably get comparable offers from Cosmo if you do the same amount of play. You can navigate in their reservations system to find the cheapest night (put in some dates, let the next page load, then scroll all the way to the bottom and click "Start Over" and it will bring up a calendar.

I don't think you'd get stuck on a low floor unless they were close to sold out or you wanted to get into the room really early. There's really only 4 or 5 floors I'd consider too low to have a great view.

The last folio I have from Cosmo is from 2016. I didn't get charged resort fees on comp nights. Not 100% sure that's still true, but I think it is, at least for the offers I get (which don't state one way or the other).

The tub in that room doesn't have a view, but it's a nice sized one with the little jets around the bottom.

    Cosmo vs Mlife

Agree with a lot of your assessment @grplnxprt- Cosmo is a great place to stay.
I'm a "Cosmo AND mlife" fan - would be hard for me to sever the cord with mlfe. While their offers aren't as good as in the past, they are still competitive and I like their properties and hosts are good to us. Like some others mentioned, Cosmo is a single property, and I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket, I like having a plan B.

So I usually stay at Cosmo and Mlife and get double the enjoyment :woohoo: and sometimes lose double the money

I can never get a good answer on table play. I’m a craps player that gets 3 nights in regular rooms at Aria and B with suites everywhere else in the MLife portfolio. I also get varying amounts of RCs based on which place I stay. Depending on how things are going I usually averages anywhere between 125 and 175, always getting in 4 hours a day. Any idea what this will get me at Cosmo?

it's really really hard to judge, because there aren't a lot of tables-mostly people here that stay at Cosmo. They don't give any points or even tier credits for table play, so there's just no way to look at any numbers from the players club and do a comparison.

Table players are eligible for tier advancement, but it's a manually-based process where they review play monthly. There isn't any question they give comp offers to table players, it's just really really hard to figure out a safe threshold.

If you wanted to take a shot at Cosmo, the routes would seem to be:
    • Try to get an Mlife offer matched
    • Book a cheap night (or do a walk through) and play your normal level and time and wait for offers
    • Do a drive-by on slots hoping to get a teaser, and then book the teaser and play tables. I left out doing a quickie session on tables because I think it's less likely to generate an offer than doing a light session (maybe in the $1,500 - $2,000 coin in range) on slots.

@Chuck2009x thanks. That’s what I figured, you are all slot players and they seem to take good care of you. I like the property, great restaurants, great sports book, I like the casino floor. It’s just so hard to think about paying for a room when I’m happy with Aria. The drive by table sessions I’ve given them has resulted in any great offers. Maybe be I’ll reach out to a host there even though my play isn’t really host worthy.

I gotta think the upper end of $125 - $175 a hand for 4 hours is still gonna rate a room during weeknights at least. The lower end might be cutting it too close these days.
