My host always puts me in a Terrace One Bedroom. It’s a very nice room (love the bathroom!) but there are a few things that annoy me about it.

My main issue is that ridiculous “dressing area” in between the “bedroom” and the “living room”. To me, it seems like wasted space. I’d much rather have a larger LR or BR…or anything else, really. Plus, the lack of drawers in favor of that awful (stub-your-toe-on-the-way-to-the-bathroom-at-4 am) trunk…seriously, who came up with that idea?

I’m also not a fan of the lack of light in the living room area. The bathroom and bedroom areas are great – but that living room…it can get kinda depressing when you’re hemorrhaging Benjamins in the casino!

So, my question is: is there any reason I shouldn’t just ask my host to put me in a Terrace Studio next trip?

The two concerns that I have are:

I always get a fountain view 1BR…is there LESS of a chance I’ll get a fountain view Studio (that is, are there fewer fountain view Studios than there are fountain view 1BRs)?

I like the fact that the LR area has its own TV for those room-service-and-football/hoops/NASCAR breakfasts in the room. Do the Studios have a separate TV in the living area? (Yeah, I know…first world problems.:rolleyes2:)

    Thanks, gang!

interesting, I have always stayed in a terrace studio but my next trip I have booked a 1BR. Now this has me thinking would I prefer the openness of the studio?

We stayed in a terrace studio this weekend and enjoyed sitting on the couch watching college football. The room was great but I thought it was weird that there were no drawers to put clothes in. There was a drawer in the kitchenette under the sink but that's a weird place for clothes. There were several shelves in the closet to put things on.

Well, I just booked a terrace studio for wildcard/national championship weekend. I'll let you know what I think.

In the meantime...I'd love to hear what any other members have to say regarding a comparison of these rooms.

Prefer the studio as well as the 1bdrm is a weird design (waste of space like mentioned above).
That said, any room at Cosmo is great as it is in my top 2 (MB home base for me)

I totally agree I'd take the Studio over the One Bedroom unless you need the bedroom door.

In the One Bedroom I had, the living room TV faced the kitchen area, not the sofa.

My guess is there's just as many Studios as One Bedrooms.

Have you tried the angled terrace studio Chuck? I think you spoke to it once.

We've stayed in the terrace suite and terrace one bedroom. The angled studio (not on the website OP, you'll have to ask) piqued my interest as its had great reviews, faces fountains, and is actually a little bigger than the one bedroom I believe...but not as pricey as terrace suite, just lower in numbers due to the unusal layout...

Plus two bathrooms, great for guests!

PS op, our couch also faced the kitchen vs. TV in the one bedroom...

Nope. I've only stayed in a Terrace Suite and the One Bedroom. The time I was in the One Bedroom, I was using Gold comped nights and they kind of auto-upgraded me from a Studio.

If I want a bigger room and a bedroom door, I pay for an upgrade and go for the Terrace Suite. If I don't, I'm going to ask for the Studio; I didn't like the layout of the One Bedroom and the soaking tub didn't do anything for me. And the Studio comp value is a little less.

Thanks so much Chuck! Totally the same here, thought I'd like the soaking tub, I didnt. We don't need a door, and I always like trying new floorplans. I DO want to try the angled one as well, but would also like to try the studio. As always, thank you Chuck!

Carve, let us know what you pick...and I love the picture...it's like my cat's clone on the ungraceful pose! :)

I emailed my host and asked her to switch me to the studio (she said, "no problem"). I'll let you know how I like it compared with the One BR...unless I break down and pay for an upgrade to the Terrace Suite.

And thanks! I always say she's doing Kung Fu in that pic.

I'm excited for you, whatever room you pick!!!! I actually am wanting to try the studio this trip now too :D

P.S. You, at least call it a more attractive pose. Mine reminds me of a big, furry slug. (Though a cute one!) Plus he gets lazy and falls over mid-pose ;)

Those were also my biggest complaints about the Terrace One Bedroom.
I also thought the couch in the living room was at a weird angle relative to the TV also.
