Heya My offers have $225 freeplay and Cosmo is saying it is $125. Of course, I didn't get an email confirmation so I can't show the offer. The reservation on the app doesn't show freeplay amount. I tried showing my current offers of $225 and was told I must have booked a different one. Nope. I do not have a host. I'm not so much asking for advice as I likely won't follow it but wanted to warn y'all this happened and maybe as long as the app refuses to show full Cosmo confirmations, try and get your confirmations in writing. ETA: I have 2 more MGM reservations this trip. Luxor and Vdara. Let's see if I get $225 on either of those, or nothing.
I was just thinking the other day that you’d be in Vegas about now but sadly no trip report . I love your trip reports and it is all about me lol Cosmo sure has changed. You could try popping into the office to talk to a Host on Duty. Here’s hoping there are no issues with your freeplay elsewhere.
Whoops! https://iputmylifeonashelf.com/that-time-i-went-to-las-vegas-to-get-a-new-kitchen/ Should mention i am waiting for it to be done before posting it here in it's entitety
I had that issue during my stay over the past few days. They said since I booked on October 31st, I was not eligible for the November offers even though that's what showed up on my account and what I booked under. Luckily I had an email confirmation showing that I was supposed to get a certain amount of freeplay. Otherwise they would've denied me. Cosmo is also the only MGM property I've stayed at that required me to go to the rewards desk to get my freeplay loaded. Normally not an issue, but with the Holiday Gift Shoppe going on, it took over 30 minutes in line.
Ooh. You may have solved a mystery. I was checking my offers this second this board started posting about them changing and saw the free play and was stunned that it went that high for me. I booked it immediately. It is entirely possible that the date hadn't flipped yet Unfortunately, unlike you, I never got an email confirmation. So I can't prove it.
yeah, I think only a host can override the date flip business. I’d still visit the office in HL and ask a host on duty if they can help…
So we checked out of Vdara today and I had freeplay on that offer as well as Cosmo (where we checked in for the weekend) and they said I could not get both and that once I used the Vdara free play that was it. I think @ColoVegPlayer also wrote about how if you have two back to back mgm stays booked they don’t give you the second freeplay (though I could be wrong).
They typically don't give freeplay twice, but sometimes do? It is a crapshoot. My stays are not back to back. I have 72 hours (or more) between each stay. I am 50% thinking I will get it for Luxor, 100% not Vdara. We shall see. On my last trip I had 4 MGM stays and got freeplay twice. I asked for it zero times.
You can't get freeplay more than once on multiple reservations made using the same month's offer. This started being a hard-and-fast rule around April/May. I don't know if you get grandfathered in if you booked multiples prior to that. If your reservations were made using different months' offers, you should be able to collect FP once on each. There was/is a glitch in the booking engine that allowed people to book a "legacy" MGM property + a Cosmo reservation without enforcing the 72 hour rule and/or recognizing that the bookings were made on the same month's offer. There was a period where people were able to collect FP on both reservations in those scenarios, but they seem to have caught up to it. On the book-by date thing, let's say you notice your FP/RC go up on April 29, but the book by date hasn't flipped to May 31 yet. If you book it, the system will consider it booked under your April offer. I did that once. When I checked in, it auto-loaded the lower amount. Since my printed email confirmation listed the higher FP, I went to the desk and it took 10 or 15 mins but they gave me the remainder. If they had checked the timestamp on the email, they probably wouldn't have.
I just read the first couple of days of your TR. Wow. Just awesome. Wow, Yes. You're apartment is a keeper FOREVAH!!!!!!!!!! And Wow to that MINT fare and MINT generally. And as God as my witness, I almost choked on my coffee when I saw a part of your itinerary. I do the same, I think with the same font (either Arial or Aptos) and do color coding as you do, including the identical green and in bold for gambling, but I'm hot pink for spa, deep purple for meals, red for other activities, blue for travel, and black for things like rising, showering, and getting dressed. This is hilarious. Carry on and wishing you a great trip.
Oh yeah, I did book Luxor and Vdara in different months so who knows what will happen? It has never been consistent with me. Anything non gambling to do is pink, so spas are pink too! And yes, Arial font all the way.
If neither of them was also booked during the same month as Cosmo, I think you'll be OK. They seem to have that bit working correctly now.
So far so good. That FP should be good for 14 days from the date it was loaded. Unless you have some reason not to, I would use it before you check out of Luxor. In theory, if you have some left over, the Vdara FP should just get added on top of whatever you have left. I don't have any particular reason to think that should go wrong. But I also wouldn't give it a chance to go wrong.
It would be a damn shame if when the noisy hall people were finally all tucked in and sleeping someone accidentally rang them up several times. It happens.
