    My Trip Report

    WARNING this may get wordy.
Long time lurker, just returned from Vegas and wanted to share a recap of trip.
If it wasn’t for VMB getting me through the last few months not sure I would have survived.
I have been going to LV 2x year for past 13 years. I am only a slot playing drinker, so lack of shows or changes in table games with plexiglass did not deter me from going at this time.
This trip was originally planned for January of this year but winter in the midwest makes travel questionable so pushed out to March which in hindsight was not in my favor and required 7 more bookings before the stars aligned and was able to finally make trip after an 11 month wait, last trip August 2019.
But it was so worth the wait and much needed as sanity was hanging by a thread.
Initially planning on Aria, had comps at almost all MLife and Ceasers properties but had seen a post on $99 cosmo room. Checked my email and hell yes sign me up I will pay to stay there.

Flight out of MKE with southwest on schedule and little over half full.

Arrived for my first stay at Cosmo. Stayed in the Chelsea tower and in our 3 nights never had another guest even near the elevators so no issue with sharing an elevator. Perhaps helped to be on low floor, 1811.
Mask usage from my observations beat my expectations, 99.99%. Even though I work in healthcare and have had to wear a mask at work I was a little worried how much it would affect the vibe while there...happy to report didn’t bother me at all to wear and did not affect drinking while slotting.
I like to think this was my good luck charm...

Time to hit the slots after 11 long months.
Within the first 30 minutes and on my first $100

    Cashed out and reloaded
Cheers... I may have overindulged but so worth it

Because within 10 minutes hit this to double my hand pays ...2 total (last one 5 trips ago at MB, I love to play slots but they don’t love to pay me)

Decided not to tempt the gambling gods and called it a night for the gamble.
Enjoyed my fav french onion and tomato soup. Don’t judge I didn’t finish them both although if I hadn’t drank my weight in raspberry lemon drops I may have been able to.

Next morning made our way around the strip to take in the sights and smell ( I miss the smells the most)
Stopped at TI and so happy I did... Sat down at a Diamond Buffalo ( which I have been an amateur hunter past 3 years but I am a horrible buffalo hunter until now when it finally happened I got one)
When I sat down jokingly said to husband that 3x 58 spins is mine and guess what happened 2 spins later.

I was starting to think I couldn’t lose but alas my normal retuned and the next 30 hours or so sucked 100 dollar bills out of me so fast I lost count.
Enjoyed my favorite casino view... not sure what it is but love standing in this
spot and taking it all in.

On our last day enjoyed for the first time

Happy to report the Wonder 4 machine liked me again on our last morning and was able to recoup $870 of what I needed to reclaim from the 30 previous hours.. In the end I made Sterling, started at 0 as last year was first time signing up for Identity. And first trip ever I brought my money home plus an extra 600 and that’s with paying cash for everything and airline was miles so YES I will take that for the WIN.
Right now going may not be for everyone but I am glad I did it for my own sanity. I felt in control of my risk and never felt that I couldn’t maintain my own space. I have the next 2 weeks off work and hoping all remains well.
If you stuck with me many thanks and also for the wisdom and treasures I have gleamed from lurking here.
    Until next time Vegas

I love all the slot pics (and congrats!) but what I really want to know is where you got that good looking french onion soup?! Heading to the Cosmo tomorrow and my husband and I LOVE french onion.

Love it! That’s for your feelings on mask wearing and that it did not affect your enjoyment of Vegas.

Great report! You seem to Vegas very much like I do. I love those Johnny Depp chairs! If they ever remodel I'd love to buy one. Thanks for sharing your report and pictures.

Congratulations on such a winning and fun trip! I could just FEEL how much you were enjoying yourself. So happy to hear that, especially being a health care worker on the front lines. Thank you for your service.

I absolutely loved your trip report, including all of the great photos. I've stayed at Cosmo a few times, though many years ago. One of the things I like about the lower floors with a balcony is that you can actually hear the music accompanying the fountain shows very well. I have some strong and wonderful memories of lightly napping with the balcony door open and hearing the music in the distance.

You also had my favorite breakfast/brunch at MAG so thanks for that photo as well. It was good to see the social distancing with the tables on the patio.

Thanks again for a great report.
