    They moved some mummies recently..
there are ridic conspiracies about it,
    like the suez canal fiasco.
It's a whole nother story, but I'm not ever trying to step foot in the Luxor again.

It’s supposed to be haunted and cursed because of strange deaths & the lack of the 2nd sphinx. I thought it would be in bad form to talk about while you were there. But since you two are home safely....I’m really superstitious in Vegas.

Ha! I ran and told @luck.ofthe.draw about my mysterious sliding red bull can right after it happened, and mentioned it must be the lack of the second sphinx. I'm familiar with a lot of the "haunting" stories, but wasnt sure if you meant those or like, a hooker stealing your liver or something.

I shall posit four theories (because reading VMB and coming up with theories is more fun than writing this research paper).

    1) The bathroom tile is not at an even incline, with just the slightest grade. The condensation acted as lubrication, and the floor was ever so slightly vibrating (Maybe from elevators, construction, people below you, AC units, etc). This vibration caused the can to move and break static friction, combined with the lubricant and incline, the resulting force was higher than the resistance of kinematic friction, resulting in fucking creepy can movement.

    2) It was a can of red bull. Red bull gives you wings, so it stands to reason the red bull itself has wings?

    3) You had too much to drink already and were imagining it!

    4) Luxor actually is haunted and a poltergeist was fucking with you.

However, as a good researcher and scientist, it is my duty to inform you that you are actually required to go back to Luxor and repeat the experiment. It wouldn't be good science if we didn't try again, right?

My best guess and initial inclination was #1, but at this point, I think #5 makes more sense - go re-investigate.

It happened just as I described it sir. I think honestly @ColoVegPlayer theory 1 above is probably the correct answer, but I would have expected to at least feel or see some negligible amount of water on the ground where it slid. I was unable to detect such with sight or touch (although from a physics standpoint its possible it left such a microscopic amount behind that it evaporate near instantly, which would explain that).

    Two quick updates:

    1) I got my full deposit back from Turo yesterday. Again, not a concern if you're not renting a Ferrari or super deluxe class, but the super deluxe class requires you be, I think, 35 years of age or older, and charge a $750 up-front security deposit which they lower to $500 if you provide proof of personal insurance and give them policy information. I did read a few horror stories about people getting dinged out of their deposits, though that seems dependent on the vehicle owner and his or her ethics or lack thereof. My full amount was refunded yesterday right on schedule and they both emailed and sent an alert in the app informing me of such. Overall, their fees and especially their insurance scam, are huge cons, but it was otherwise a good experience all around and I'd be comfortable using them again if the car is cheap enough to still be a good deal even after their daily fee BS, which that Ferrari was.

    2) I emailed the host who reached out from Excalibur and got a reply in less than 2 minutes answering all of my questions and confirming that yes, indeed he can and will work with me on any and all MLife properties. That's great, and I can see why folks like working with him.

I just started looking for cars for my 4th of July trip, and first 2 Slingshots to pop up are $97 per day with the 3+ day rate discount. I suspect you looked late enough that most were rented and the rest were either unreasonably priced in the first place or jacked up their prices due to the whole supply and demand and enormous rates with the traditional rental companies. There are some legit exotic cars on there in the 300 range (the Ferrrari I rented was in the $300 per day range too, > 300 after fees and such but the base rate was about 300)

I've been going back and forth on renting one of these. I'm just hesitant leaving it in a parking garage downtown and then overnight at Mandalay bays parking garage since it's open air. Idk maybe I'm just being paranoid lol.

When I see you rolling down LVB in that Slingshot during the 4th of July weekend, I'm definitely jumping in! That's a really good price too.

As of now, debating between same Ferrari or a V10 Audi R8. But yah, $100 a day for a slingshot is not bad. When Vegas first re-opened and even at Thanksgiving and Christmas 2020, I was seeing them just over $50 per day and 75 was about average on Turo.

Just curious if you could share (and if not, that’s perfectly fine!) what amount of coin-in you had that the host contacted you?

I did about $15,000 at MLife on slots this trip but not all that much at Excalibur (a little under 3k I think). This is only slightly on the high end of MLife average for me, so I am a little perplexed as well, but maybe it had more to do with average over time because I didnt really do any rated play at MLife until last year but I've maintained a consistent average of 3 to 4k per day in Vegas and local markets. Also some lower play days might have dropped off, I really have no idea. Until recently I'd averaged closer to 5k per day at CET and in many ways, they treated me like I was lucky just to stay there lol. The one thing that's different about this trip is I stayed longer at MLife than normal, so if they have more emphasis on trip totals than daily averages, this one would have been several thousand higher because my previous stays were all 2 or 3 nights and this one was 4.

If MLife ever figures out that 5 nights comped upfront is significantly different then 4 for most people who fly from the east coast.. CET could be in a world of trouble.

That really is the only thing that keeps me at CET (that and being Diamond I never pay resort fees but I bet if I moved my play to MLife I could get no resort fees there)

I agree, but also, my original booking for that 2br suite was 5 nights, and the rate they gave me for the 5th night was only $127 plus resort fees wouldnt have been waived but still would have been under $200 out the door for 5 nights in a 1,500 square foot suite, which, at least to me, even at Luxor, is much preferred over 5 nights in a base room at any of the CET joints for free, plus they gave me more RC and FP than $200, so it still would have been a profit situation in that sense even if I paid the money for the 5th night. I had $50 FP at Caesars Palace and I'm pretty sure that's the most they've ever given me on a date when I could actually go (although I have a whopping $75 FP if I stay 4th of July weekend, which is probably not happening).
