    My Trip Report

This is my second solo stay at CC in the last 15 months. I really have no complaints about it, aside from the location. I did use the deuce once, but walked the rest of the time. (I really didn't mind it too much.) I received a coupon book upon checking in. The only coupon I used was the $15 in chips for $10. Played BJ (At table). I won $22. The room (In skyrise tower) was fine for what I paid. This was a trip where I was on a very tight budget. Was laid off from work for two months over the winter. I spent some (gambling) time at Gold Coast (lost about $10), Casino Royale (lost $10), Harrah's (even), & Ellis Island (Won $12). In total I probably spent about 12 hours gambling. I went to Gold Coast for their lunch buffet everyday. It was fine, not great, but not bad. I really enjoyed the Auto Collection at The Linq. I also ate at Metro Pizza inside Ellis Island. I did use the "free" shuttle from Harrah's to Rio, the one from Gold Coast to Orleans to the Linq. The Harrah's shuttle was usually fairly full, but the GC, Orleans, Ling one only had about 6 people on. I did not get Downtown at all this trip. I did take advantage of the $1 Michelob's at Casino Royale. I may skip a year & save up a little more for the next trip. It seems Vegas is getting too "High Class" for me anyway.

Sorry to hear about your layoff. Glad to hear you had a good time, despite the limitation. My impression of CC has always been very poor. However, based on your comments, I may give it a chance if the price is right at the right time.

I expect that with Casino Royale doing away with 100x craps odds, the $1 Michelob Ultras may be next to go. It seems tradition means nothing in Las Vegas, and extracting every possible dollar out of patrons is the name of the game. I sense that this is, in part, what your "high class" comment is based on.

Really, part of what motivates me to stay downtown is that this "high end" vibe is virtually nonexistent there (save for GN, of course). I'd take a 30 minute ride to the strip from downtown over a 10 minute ride to the strip from CC any day of the week, personally.

Got any pics? Having gone without Vegas for almost a year now, I could do with as many Vegas photos as I can get!

CIRCUS! CIRCUS! Where dreams go to die...but I did stay there because of a very cheap price
during Super Bowl Weekend. Good for the budget. But felt like I had been dropped in the
middle of East L.A. Lot of young looking gangbanger thugs with their baby mama's and kids in tow.

    So yeah.

I do think I will try downtown next time. BobLasVegas, I got the same feeling about being dropped in East L.A., bust I must say no one was unruly. If the $1 Michelob's disappear, I will either migrate over to Ellis Island or Downtown. Sorry no pics....unless you want some of the Auto Collection in the Quad.

I had my share of Tecate while playing the VP, the waitress almost fainted when I tipped her $2. They were flowing after that. My observation from my stay in late September was that there were many more kids on the weekends, not so many during the week. I also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Thanks for the trip report Federated52. I'm a fan of Circus Circus for low budget trips and proximity to the Convention Center. A couple years ago I stayed at the Riviera, played a little BJ and received some reduced rate offers, so I will be curious to see if you get any room discount offers in the future.

Did you also magically travel back in time?
It hasn't been the quad in at least 2 years.

HaHa sorry Its changed names so many times I can't keep up. Seems like every time I go out it's a different name. I just usually call it the IP, but I also do that with places around my home as well.......call them the name they were when I was younger.

Even though you were on a tight budget, it sounded like you had a fun trip. I enjoyed your report. Thanks for sharing!

Enjoyed the poverty trip report... CC has always been a place where dreams go to die.

We've had more fun staying at CC over the years than anywhere on the strip. However that was before all the places around it were torn down. Now it's too much of an island. I'm glad you had a good time.

Yes TomTWI it is pretty much an island now, but on the bright side I lost weight walking to the rest of the strip. HaHa
