The place (Circa) looks like the kind of place I could enjoy. Derek and his management did a tremendous job. Not to mention the construction team workers etc.

    My hats off to them.

I wish SOMEONE with talent would take the thread which went from demolition of the LVC to opening night and make a video and post. I looked over some of the pictures while demolition of the parking garage occurred and it seemed like much further than real time.

I spent a couple hours at Stadium Swim today. They are charging $10 general admission, but I was able to get in for free because I'm staying at D. However, I decided to get a lounge chair for two hours, which meant spending $30 on food and drink. I got a chicken caesar wrap and pina colada, both good. It is in the mid-to-high 70s and sunny here, but it felt very warm/hot up there. I retreated to the GN pool for an hour of craps.

It was funny watching one of the videos and seeing people I know from previous trips.

First I saw of gambling at the pool. Is it a myth or regulation that all gambling must be open to the public without a fee?

The place is Awesome !!! I was there Sunday. the sports book is amazing the bar is incredible. We did not pay the $10 to look at the pool but is my opinion that the pool will be the happening spot in all of vegas this summer.

IANAL, but IIRC, there was a change in the gaming regulations a while back that now does allow "private" and "invitation only" types of gaming areas, so something like that may be covered by those regulations.

While I will definitely pay them a visit, and probably pay them for my time at the tables, I am not a fan of a pool in the desert with not shade. So I probably won't stay there.
I love the idea of bringing in Vegas Vickie.

IANAL, but it seems the "I'm going to the club / pool / whatever to gamble" workaround is pretty common and generally infallible, based on anecdotes I've heard over the years. This FlyerTalk thread, which is the source of the image below, seems to cover the topic off pretty good: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/las-vegas/1686895-no-cover-charge-if-you-plan-gamble-nightclub-pool-party.html

This was in 2001. Again, IANAL either :) But this provides some interesting insight as to how it started: https://lasvegassun.com/news/2001/aug/27/nevada-gaming-salon-rules-unveiled/

It once required a $500k credit line, but it appears they lowered it to $300k in 2008: https://lasvegassun.com/news/2008/dec/09/got-300k-your-private-gambling-room-ready/

The Review Journal probably shouldn't have posted the picture of the group out front, packed together with no masks... "We don't need no masks, we're drinking!"
