I think there is value in most of the MGM properties IMHO, but if you have a Bellagio offer that would be my pick for Christmas time. I love what they do.

I do have an offer for 2 nights comped at Bellagio

Anyone know if the Fountain View King rooms have the pullout couch or just a regular couch?

Instead of going to Vegas in November, we now have decided to go the week of Christmas. We have been to Vegas several times at Christmas, and really enjoyed it. Nice and cool, not a lot of crowds or people, great Christmas displays at the casino's, and we like the fact, we don't have to deal with any family drama. LOL

I also had a nice surprise, when I checked room rates and saw that the entire week of Christmas was comped for us, in a Jubilee strip view room. Merry Christmas to us.:santa:

We've only been in Vegas at Christmas once. And we're big pool people so I was concerned about not having that activity to keep us out of the casino too much but we loved it. All the Christmas decorations and Christmas music (think Andy Williams, Perry Como, Michael Bubble' Dean and Frank) playing really puts you in the mood. I was going to say the Salon suite (their smallest suite) at Bellagio would be prefect for 3 people because the couch pulls out and the bathroom is huge with 2 totally different sink/counter areas...plus a separate commode room. Their website still says it sleeps 3 but it also looks like they replaced the pull out couch with a sectional so I'm not sure if the "couch" portion of the sectional still pulls out but a quick phone call would answer that. Have fun!

I have to agree with @Dean Martin, I like the Christmas music as well. Frank and Dean can always provide a festive holiday mood.

Bally's is our Christmas present, since we have the comped nights, LOL. Maybe someday, I will be able to stay at Bellagio. Although, hubby and I have cabin fever really bad, so at this point, sleeping under a bridge would be an option. LOL:kill:

My Christmas bucket list is: Go to the Mob Museum, eat at Nacho Daddy (hoping it is as good as I have heard),:feedme: go to the Shark Reef at MB, and maybe take in the wax museum at the Venetian. Any other suggestions on what to do, other than gamble are welcome. My meager gambling bankroll usually goes quickly. LOLo_O

So right now I’m tentatively booked 3 nights at the Cosmo in a Studio Terrace Fountain Room and 3 nights in the Palazzo (comped). Cosmo room will cost me around $820, Palazzo $150.

For about the same price ($925) I could stay in a 2 Queen Fountain View room at Bellagio.

To clarify I could also stay for about $300 total if we opted for 3 nights Palazzo and 3 nights MGM/MB/Mirage etc. but of course those are more standard rooms in the MGM properties. Not sure it’s worth skimping over Christmas just to save $600.

    Thoughts?

I'd likely take the option you have, but I'm in the camp that will always pay up some for a nicer room.

You'll have many in tthe camp that will always take comped rooms over paying.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, either.

We all Vegas in our own way, and have our own boxes to tick.

Only you can decide which is right for you, imo.

I’d stick with what you have. I spent lots of time on the terrace last Christmas.

    Any restaurant recommendations?

Last time we were there we ate at Mon Ami Gabi, Craft Steak, SW Steakhouse, and Burgr. I am sure there were others, but those are the ones I can recall.

Christmas in Vegas is a lot of fun. The crowds have gotten noticeably larger the past several years, ramping up around the 23rd and busy through the 26th with a little break before the NYE crowd arrives around the 28th or 29th. Most of the casinos will be playing Christmas tunes and a good number of them will have a decent amount of indoor decorations - especially Wynn, Bellagio, Crystals, Caesars (the lobby there is beautiful) and the lobbies at Palazzo & Venetian are the ones that stand out the most.

I think the Palazzo is a great choice, especially with a kid as the room is plenty big and lots of things to see and wander to indoors. They have a ton of food offerings from $ to $$$$, connected to the mall, gondola rides, Madam Tussaud’s and walking distance to Fashion Show Mall (if you’re into that).

Have a great time with your family!
