    My Trip Report

I'm back for my second trip report! After the beating I took over Thanksgiving I figured I needed to spend Christmas chasing losses. I had a choice between driving a few hours to a local casino or flying a few hours to Vegas. When I saw how cheap the flight was the decision was pretty easy! Here's my tentative itinerary:

When - Dec. 23-26. Arriving late tonight and flying back Saturday afternoon.

Hotel - Bellagio. I have a comped fountain view room. Never stayed at Bellagio before but I've gambled there every trip. My last couple trips I chose to stay in a bigger suite at Mandalay Bay. I figured I'd sacrifice a better strip location and view for a bigger room and more resort credit. But this time I'm gonna try the Bellagio to see if it's worth sacrificing a bigger room and resort credit for a standard room in a higher end hotel and better location. I guess I'll find out which is the better option for me!

Food - $250 resort credit. I have dinner reservations for the Mayfair Supper Club and Spago at Bellagio. Planning on having breakfast at least once at Sadelle's at Bellagio, maybe more if I like it. Also planning to have lunch at Din Tai Fung at Aria. I am definitely going to Circa this trip and will likely try Saginaw's Deli.

Gambling - $500 free play. Think I'm gonna try to burn my free play in a high limit video poker machine instead of the penny slots this time. Will also play tables and slots of course. I'm thinking of going to Caesars to get a player's card and match to diamond (if they still have that promotion) and will check out Circa one day.

Looking forward to sharing my experiences with everybody! Thanks for following along!

Have a great time! I just left bellagio Monday[emoji20]

I can highly recommend the Truffle pasta side at Mayfair and i hope you enjoy it as much as i did. I’ve liked everything i’ve tried at Sadelles! If you are there around lunch time, the french onion soup is fantastic!

If you plan to eat at Sadelle's, especially for breakfast, make a reservation -- fortunately we had made reservations when we were there in October, because there were lines to get in, even in the Platinum line.

After an hour flight delay and waiting 20 minutes for an Uber I finally made it to Bellagio! I got excited when the gal at check-in offered to upgrade me to a penthouse suite or Bellagio suite, but then she said it would be an extra $150 a night. Not worth it for me unless it's comped so I politely declined. But she said she put me in the center so I'd have the best view of the fountain which I appreciated. As I walked to the elevators most of the tables seemed to be at $15 minimums, some higher.

Room is nice for a standard room. Bathroom is pretty large. It's a Staywell room, which I've always assumed was a pointless gimmick but gave it a try since it was free. Definitely the best view I've ever had in Vegas. Gonna go to bed now and try to get some sleep before breakfast at Sadelle's!

Merry Christmas and enjoy your stay! That is easily one of the best views in LV. If you happen to be up for sunrise, the view is equally special IMO.

I just did this on Friday and it was a piece of cake. Only problem is that the status is only good until January 31, 2021 unless you meet their reduced point threshold for match extension. If you join in December that point goal is 1250 by December 31. I did not gamble there this past trip (MLife got all my play) but I am headed to the Paris to see if I can hit it on Sunday. Pretty sure three days of CET gambling should do the trick! Plus then I get to use the $100 Diamond Dinner!

Hope you have a great trip! You can't beat that view!

GL. Stayed there so many times in my poker playing days that I don't readily look at the B for future stays, but that view never gets old. I didn't go much on Sadelle;s maybe I ordered bad, but I preferred the old cafe.

I've also played around with the 5* basic room -v- the football field sized suites in lesser properties a lot. I think my verdict in the end was that the 5* won that one. And yet ironically, my next trip is in a big-ass MB suite.... :) I think the best hotels get the small stuff really right, and that makes a real difference. But ultimately when you've been to Vegas a lot, just a new change of scenery freshens things up and makes the first few days more exciting than just settling in from where you last left off.

Enjoy the trip, will be interested to hear your conclusions as you go.

I’d imagine it will be dead the next few days in Vegas. I hear they are not expecting big crowds for NYE, as I’m getting offers of comped rooms at most CET properties for a 5 night stay including NYE plus Friday & Saturday nights.

Went to Sadelle's for breakfast and it was very good. Ordered the eggs benedict and sticky bun. They brought out the sticky bun first which I thought was weird since I wanted it as a dessert, but I ate it before the meal came anyway. My only complaint is that the sticky bun wasn't bigger! It was amazing. Sweet, flaky, buttery, tender, caramelized. If I go on anymore I'll sound like a food critic! Eggs benedict was one of the best I've ever had. I don't know if they use something other than an English muffin or if their english muffins are just unique, but it was delicious. The hollandaise was on point too. Nice and tangy.

My only other complaint is that the wicker chairs they have are not very sturdy. I felt like I was gonna break it the entire time!

Here is the view of the Rio from Sadelle's.

After breakfast I started gambling. Saw that the 2x free games on buffalo diamond was pretty high on minimum bet, so naturally I had to chase it. After a lot of up and down and only being down 7 bucks, I hit it! The bonus ended up being only about 45 bucks, but still not bad for a 75 cent bet.
    PXL_20201224_154822038.jpg

Took my small profit from there and tried buffalo chief. Fed that machine several hundred and couldn't hit a thing. Played a few other random machines and didn't get anything. Not many tables open. One $10 craps table that has been full all morning. Saw they had a $10 ultimate table open so I played that for a while. Was going pretty bad but hit a few decent hands and ended up netting a black chip. Then took my $500 freeplay and tried a $10 double double bonus video poker machine. I think I did 7 straight spins with nothing and then got dealt a full house and a couple other decent hands to get up to $750 cash. Lost some of that in the slots but am only down a Benjamin for the day. Lot better start than my last trip!
