A friend of mine. Really a friend, not me. Has a 100 dollar chip from the Horshoe casino in Hammond IN. It is a Caesar property. When we go to Vegas this summer can he cash it in at a Caesars property in Vegas or does he need to go back to Hammond to do it.

I think he will have to go back to Hammond.

No, it has to be cashed in at the Hammond property.

In search of a retirement spot. On my way to Elko, NV through Reno.
Sterling night at Cosmopolitan, a day before the Silver Strike tourney

Yeah, they'll cash chips between properties within Vegas, but there's a regular run between those. Chips are property-specific, not company-specific. If you have an MGM Grand chip, they'll cash it at NY-NY because they'll go swap it out. Not so much if it's out of state. Also bear in mind that every casino is technically a separate legal entity.

Pretty sure Caesars is selling that casino, so tell your friend to not wait forever to cash it in.

Not a chance. The only situation like that I know in regards to CET casino's in Vegas is Bally's & Paris. They will exchange your chips at the table or you can cash opposing chips at their respective cages between the two casinos.

Boyd in Las Vegas is good at accepting any Vegas-area Boyd chips at any Boyd property. In Feb we were staying at the Cal but went up to Aliente, where a buddy forgot to cash in $225 in chips before leaving. The Cal was happy to cash them for him, and the cashier made it seem like it was a semi-regular occurrence and was not an issue.
