George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek) just put this up. Made me think of this thread:

I went to Vegas probably 4-5 times as a kid (this was between 94-2000) I am 23 now. That being said, that was a time when the themed casinos were still big and we did tons of sight seeing...another point about this is that it was myself, my brother (who was a teenager) and my parents that was it. I can't ever remember being on the strip more than once when it was dark and certainly not past 8-9pm.

I have to agree, now-a-days, there is little to no setting in Vegas appropriate for kids. There are just too many things that they don't need to be exposed to everywhere. It is designed for adults and most adults have no desire to put up with kids who are out of control there.

What I've learned from threads like this is how amazing our members are. Every VMB member who brings their children to Vegas has uniformly raised offspring that are mature beyond their years, sit quietly on planes, look much older than their actual age, are always respectful of the adults around them, never venture into inappropriate areas, never sit at slot machines, don't look at porn-slapper cards, are polite and mannerly in restaurants, frequently attend live shows without being disruptive, and are all in bed before 10pm. 100% is quite amazing. I wish the casino odds were that favorable. :nworthy:

Simple solution - put checkpoints five miles outside of Vegas. Noone under 21 allowed in - unless you are a hot 18-20 year old female:wink2:

According to the LVCVA visitor profile study the percentage of visitors bringing kids to Vegas has been steadily increasing, at least since 2008 which is as far back as it shows. The percentage has almost doubled since then.

Really sucks if seeing kids in Vegas causes you so much grief. Easier to just not give a shit or better yet try to get them drunk and see what they do.

SEEING them is not what gives me grief, it is being run over by their strollers.
